I've had to take my R1T in to the Denver service center a few times for minor issues. They have always been great. People are nice, communicate well and they take care of the problems.
However, the last few times I've dropped my truck off in the morning only to get a app message toward the end of THE NEXT DAY letting me know that my truck is moving up the queue. I get that they are busy with limited resources, but give me the option to keep my truck an extra day or 2 and not only save me a day in a POS rental, but save the cost of the rental for them. The previous times I've been in a loaner, so not too upsetting. But now I'm in a rental Hyundai Kona and missing my truck!
{gripe gripe gripe} I'd still buy another one tomorrow.

Your post reads like a "water is wet" one. Wait until they "elevate" your service experience to where they break your truck while trying to fix it. Hope all you have to deal with is slow comms.

Posted in another thread, but I was informed by the CO Springs SC that the new one in Centennial/Englewood should be online in the next 60 days. They're also supposed to have night shift for techs as well - so should be a lot of capacity. Also, a Louisville one is coming as well - don't know much about that one.

They do need more loaners. It's a very different experience being stuck in a random rental for days versus a Rivian. Entirely too many folks end up in rentals. I've only gotten a loaner for 10 out of 34 service days (combined for both my trucks).

Day 2 and it does not even have a tech assigned.
Just seems like if they know they're running 2 days behind they would send you a message to give you the option of waiting to bring it in.
So wasteful for everyone involved.

Some have dropped off their vehicles and waited 7-10 days before it was brought inside the shop and looked at, so you're not alone here. Yes, it terribly wasteful and it's been like that for several years now.

My vehicle once sat for four weeks before it got worked on. And I had to raise a stink about it.

It's not like that now, though, at that same service center.

Rivian had my new truck in for alignment and QC issues. For them to align the vehicle 4 times (and I was there to pick it up the same day it was declared ready, they screwed it up every time and it still is not aligned), replace 4 tires, 1 wheel (all declared defective by Rivian), and align the charging port door (which is still not aligned...) it took 24 days. They also didn't return my rental the day I dropped it off so that added cost to them. All in they spent over $2k on my rental to do work that if done correctly the first time would have taken any other dealer 1-2 days, and even with the repeat issues should have only been a week.

If I was a shareholder I would have sold yesterday, glad I'm not.

I love my truck but as I mentioned upstream it was damaged while in for repair. Then while trying to fix that damage, it was further damaged. And to top it off, my initial problem wasn't resolved after being without my truck for almost 2 months.

Brief version:
  • Wind noise not fixed at first visit for it last year. Got it back in for service this year to fix.
  • Replaced offending part (roof applique).
  • Damaged truck removing applique.
  • Sent to body shop for repairs.
  • Body shop returns truck (with poor paint repair) but with a bonus of damaging and cracking my roof glass. Roof glass had 2 layers of protective PPF.
  • Roof glass on back order. Finally get truck back.
  • Still has wind noise, but the onset is at a lower speed and a difference frequency (more auidble but lower intensity). So two steps sideways.
Still don't have the money back for my PPF that was just put on my truck's roof. At a minimum the body shop should be responsible for it but nothing yet.

So if slow service is your only issue, count yourself lucky. I do feel Rivian actually cares. They generally kept me updated in a timely manner. I did have a good loaner and I feel they tried to do the right thing. Unfortunately, I think their service is descending toward Tesla levels.
