Mobile servicing sounds like it's got some growing pains but the way they handled the recall at SCs was fantastic. With no appointment at all I just drove up at like 7pm, there was a sign saying to honk for recall, so I honk and a dude strolls out with a big-ass wrench resting on his shoulder. He tells me to raise the vehicle to the highest setting, cranks a few times on each side, and sends me on my way. The whole process took 2 minutes and I got to see an R1S in the lot and the only R1T color that I hadn't yet seen (RC).

He said "55" to a service rep when he was done which I interpret to mean 55 lb-ft, meaning I probably needed that tightening.

Of course, the next day my tonneau broke so I'll be back soon. They told me that they won't repair any tonneaus until next year when the redesign hits and that they'll only help me keep it fully closed or open. Can't say I'm excited to have an open bed for the whole winter but there's nothing to be done but keep the snow shoveled I suppose.

So when the mobile tech is done nodding along to your 30 minute rant, they should COMMUNICATE the delay or reschedule, not STAND SOMEBODY UP.

Root problem we're getting at: communication issues.
…or silently convert your “mobile” appointment to a day off of work & $60 in tolls “drive-in” appointment.

Mobile did great for me yesterday. Wasn’t even home for the recall fix.

Tech texted me later to say truck was done. I asked about torque and my RH side was under spec. So glad I had it checked out!

Still says 18 October 2022 with my address listed. I wasn't aware of a flux capacitor recall...

I've had the opposite experience. Called after a few days of getting a text message about the recall. Was scheduled for the following week but they could come at any time and they would text me.

I called them that day and said, well, I'm out of the house at 5:30. Left them a key card on the windshield. Wound up not making it out. Called to reschedule that night, but I didn't answer. Followed up the next day to get me rescheduled. Now scheduled for this coming Monday.

Curious what the OP had to discuss for 20 minutes originally. My call took 2 minutes.

“Um…recall? Hold on”…
“You got an email about it? Hold on…”
“Ok, ok, let me set up an appointment…”
“Hold on…”
“Ok, your appointment is…wait, hold on…”
“Hmm, I have to check something, hold on…”

It kinda went like that.

Mine took 2 minutes as well. "Haven't you heard about the recall?! Omg we need to get you fixed. Don't worry, there's a tech in your area tomorrow. They totally won't ghost you and we will definitely call you if we need to reschedule. There's no way we'd go a week without calling you for missing an appointment we called to make. Trust us..."

Been blown off 3x by Mobile tech. No call or text. nothing. Windows just passed by. This is for the recall. Also have intermittent BRAKE malfunction light on dash. Just disappointed in the lack of communication and I refuse to drive hour and half to middle of Brooklyn to get the possible same treatment. Contacted Rivian support and even they couldn’t can’t get hold of mobile tech or service center themselves. That’s definitely not a good sign. Hopefully they can get better communication in order and a closer service center in NJ soon.
At least this was a result of YOU calling THEM.

I got an unsolicited call from a Rivian CSR Monday night asking if I knew about the recall (umm, doy) and he said there was a tech in my area the next day who could do it in my driveway. "Cool beans! Schedule it." I got the email and signed the work order. How nice of them!

...Then I got stood up. No phone call, no nothing. I still have an appointment for 6-7pm 18Oct2022. And I also haven't gotten a call from anyone at Rivian about this. Maybe they're working on time travel?

This is a personal-level failure of over promising and under delivering. You reach out to Me to schedule? Then you no show? And now you ghost me? WTAF.

Well Rivian has redeemed itself in my eyes. The next day after my last post I was contacted by Rivian with apologies as to what happened. I received some pretty solid attention to my concerns and a new appointment was scheduled which happened today. All was good with my R1T and the bolts that were checked as part of the recall were retorqued to 120Nm. My tech was awesome. Spent extra time answering my questions and also helped with my BRAKE light issue. Very happy with the experience. Can’t wait to take my ride down the shore with my truck tomorrow.

Was the brake malfunction solved with a software reset?

Believe it or not low brake fluid in reservoir. They obviously have a sensor in there. So check there first if you see the BRAKE warning in lower left corner of display. I put in 1/2 container of DOT 4 fluid ($6) and warning gone..

I just had my brake warning light come on, too. They wanted to tow me to the service center, but not wanting to deal with that, I just checked the fluid level. It was right at the minimum line. Poured just a little bit in and I’m good to go. I just hope there’s not a leak somewhere. Time will tell
