Remember to turn the front wheels fully each way for easy access! I stick mine in highest ride height and have a shop creeper (from my Land Rover days) to slide around the bottom. If you have an air compressor with a blower, that helps clean things up too.

Following. Had this error message pop up 3-4 times when I was in park shifting to reverse or drive. It goes away but another cause for concern.

Would also recommend putting it in Tire Change Mode for extra safety against unwanted changes in ride height while you're under it.

A little follow up on my issue. I had a great call with Lance from call center or service (not sure). Lance got someone to look at the captured diagnostics as well as looking at my trip schedule and they got me in for service while I'm at one location near a service center for a week. Our service drop off was a bit hurried but I do recall they said there were contaminates in the damper systems and a handful of items were being replaced. Fingers crossed that they are able to complete in the given time frame. Will update as I get more/specific info on the issue.

To close out my issue, there was some type of contamination in the suspension system, how, what or why unknown. They replaced all four dampers, hoses, manifold and pump. They fit me in at the Portland service center and had it two days which was fantastic and it didn't interrupt my month long road trip so I'm a happy camper.

I’m hitting this now, too. So far I’ve had this truck for only 8 months and this is the fourth major issue. First, a failing drive unit (replaced), then a latch failure in the tailgate, then a failed charger which bricked the vehicle (the tow truck skid marks are still on my permeable pavers) and now this. The other two Rivian’s I’ve owned have also had big problems. Anyway, I’ll let the world know what is found.

All the shit people talk about consumer reports. Seems like their accusation as being the most unreliable is kinda accurate?

It’s not if your suspension costs you alot of money, it’s when

Yes, totally. This forum is incredibly biased. Baseless attacks on Consumer Reports and other experts happen regularly because of a) the hopium of the weak-minded and b) massive losses in Rivian stock which the true believers want to recoup. It's like a mini Tesla meme stock thing. Then it gets bounced around in this circle-jerk echo chamber for years with no critical thinking applied.

This suspension warning is going to ruin adventuring for me this winter. Who wants to travel into the wilderness with a car that says "Service Suspension Soon"? Nobody. Nobody wants to have to tow a car a hundred miles or be stranded in a very cold place. When will service be able to look at this warning? Three our four months from now. So I have an "adventure vehicle" which cannot actually be used as an adventure vehicle. Makes me wish I had purchased a Kia.

Doesn’t cybertruck use an air suspension too? Haven’t heard of them having a ton of suspension issues.

can’t wait to drop $4k on dampers when those go bad at 30k miles lol

Hi -

Has anyone else gotten the "service suspension soon" notice on their dashboard? It happened to us a month or so ago. We brought it to a service center, they took several days to fix it, then said just as they were driving it back to deliver it it reappeared. Fixed it. Several months went by, we just brought ours to a different service center for a windshield repair, tire rotation and multi point inspection. All checked out OK, we got it back and that same note popped up again. Is this a common issue?

Thanks Chris

Here’s my “service suspension soon” experience:
2022 R1T launch edition, 4,xxx serial number. 21k miles.
Rainy few days. Only driving on smooth roads. Only drive in medium height suspension, middle setting on ride comfort. Suddenly received the dreaded “service suspension soon message” while driving. Two icons appeared with a suspension piston and truck up/down arrow icon. Continued to drive normally to my home. Called rivian. Did a left button+hazard lights button reset, but the issue reappeared. Left sitting in the garage for a few hours. Later, shifted to reverse and the issue was gone, so I decided to shift to park and see if the vehicle could be raised to the high height.
The vehicle adjusted up, but then the icons reappeared along with “service suspension soon”.
Called rivian, decided to drive it in the next day. Any time I let it sit, the issue would clear itself, but reappear as I began to drive. When driving in drive, the turtle icon also appeared (presumably because it was stuck in high mode).
At this point, rivian sent a flat bed truck to have it towed to service. After driving onto the tilted flatbed (20 deg tilt when the tow truck lowers its bed to load?), I put it in park and exited the vehicle. I noticed that the R1T adjusted its suspension height down automatically. At this point it was loaded, so I let it get the ride into service, but I was left wondering if the turtle icon would have been fixed simply by parking on a steep hill and allowing it to adjust automatically.

service center found it to be a faulty compressor. Water in the compressor some how. No suggestions on how to prevent it in the future. May have just been a bad unit. Hope to get it back soon.
Rivian service techs were great. Provided a rental car and uber credits to get to the pickup location. Will provide a rental to drive to the service center as well.
