R1S (to be delivered)
The communication has been really spotty. I got the email on 7/10 to start the purchase process and 7/13 that it left the factory.

I never got proactive notification of my VIN or guide but found that both had been assigned. I reached out to my guide on 7/10 and he said to expect it to take 4-6 weeks since my car was still finishing up at the factory. I texted him again on 7/14 to say it seems my car was ready to leave and asked for an updated ETA and he said 5 weeks....

I'm in the Bay Area so I'm expecting it to take at least another week or two? Hoping it's not actually 5 weeks from 7/14.

Congrats on being able to pick yours up so soon!
Welp my guide told me earlier this week that my car should arrive either the first or second week of August
Wonder if we have the same guide given the very long windows we were given ha. I’m sure they’re trying to avoid getting pinged every few days.

I broke down and texted my guide yesterday asking for an update. He said my car should get here first or second week of august which would out be at the 3-4 week mark from when it left the factory. Then I assume it has to go through QA which I hope is a few days but I know it could be longer.
I got another email today saying my car was ready to leave the factory…..I’m hoping it was just an error as it sounded like my car was already en route based on the last text from my guide.

I also just got a second “Your R1T is ready to leave the factory and make its way to your Rivian Service Center” 3 weeks after the first one when my guide confirmed it was on its way. Unfortunately my guide is out of office for another 8 days so I have no idea what’s going on.

Well first off I received my Second "Your R1S Is One Step Closer to Your Driveway" a few minutes ago.

And when I was texting with my guide earlier today he told me that "my R1S should arrive either the first or second week of August" my optimism says next week is the first week of August, but i bet they are talking week of 8/7 or 8/14. I hope I am wrong!

Bay Area, as well. Got the “ready to leave the factory“ email 7/24 and guide said 6-7 weeks from there to “ready for scheduling.”
And just got the same email again, 4 days later. Guess it’s still in Normal!

I got one as well. My local service center contact told me it was in Nebraska and should arrive next Friday.

@skiborsy looks like we are in the same boat. I am in the Bay Area as well. Below is my timeline posted on the VIN thread. My guide has been very responsive.

Currently, my guide gave me delivery for the second half of August. Maybe our R1S's are on the same truck. :)

Hi All - super excited!!! R1S | Limestone | FE | 21" --> 22"
  • Nov - 2021 Pre-Order
  • Jan '24 to Mar '24 --> window provided
  • July 17th, 2024 --> Shop Access
  • July 24th, 2023 --> Found my match, Guide Contact, Contract Signed, and VIN 0097XX assigned. Scheduled pick-up 07/28 locally, 8-step process 80% complete.
  • July 25th, 2023 --> Got e-mail stating VIN change, called guide said the car was in the wrong state, the guide found an exact match and assigned new VIN 158XX with the same configuration from the factory.
  • July 26th, 2023 --> 1st "You're one step Closer" e-mail. Waiting for a website or guide contact on the real delivery date.
  • July 26th, 2023 --> Texted guide and she responded in 2 hours with the second half of Aug delivery estimate
  • July 28th, 2023 --> 2nd " Your R1S Is One Step Closer to Your Driveway" email from Rivian.
Checking every day for the opening of the actual delivery date at the local SC.

My guide is still crickets. I made contact with two local (PDX) service center folks who have responded almost instantly to a few questions.

I am confused by the messages I am getting from the guide and the person from the service center. I got access to shop the week of 17th July and I selected the car on 20th July.

20th July - Car Selected
21st July - All steps until delivery scheduling completed
21st July - Guide texts me saying the car will be delivered in the next two weeks
27th July - As a response to some of my questions, guide tells me that delivery will be within two weeks.
27th July - I ask him to confirm the timeline since he said two weeks on 21st.
28th July - I get the email from Rivian saying the car is ready to leave the factory
29th July - The local service center contacts me to inform that the car is on the way. When I ask for timing, they are saying mid or late August.
29th July - Guide says it will be few days since the estimate was 2 weeks on 21st

I do not know who has better access to the delivery schedule. I have a long road trip and I don't want to take my trade-in and add more miles (I think I need to keep it within 1000 miles of what I provided at trade-in).

And 20 minutes later a text that it’s on its way and should be on site within the next three weeks!
So your saying either 3 weeks or 7 weeks, that quite the spread. I guess its get ready to wait a bit more.

My impression so far, it seems the corporate email timeline are quite conservative.

The service centers seem to know when the vehicles should arrive, they are probably best positioned to estimate when they are ready for pickup. They probably have a better sense of current service center workload, recent turnaround form arrival to delivery. Even then, its still a guess. They might find a QC issue that takes longer to address.

I don't know where the guide's info falls, mine doesn't return emails or texts.

I texted my guide Friday about the second "Your car is ready to leave the factory" email and he responded today saying (1) that was a system error and my car was on the way - that it should be here in 2 weeks or less and (2) asked me to upload my current car's proof of insurance. I am hoping the fact that they're looking at my docs means I'm that much closer.

I was also able to secure a loan with USSFCU at 5.24% - just want to make sure I can get them to mail out the check in time. Hoping my car gets here this week as I'm out of town next weekend.
