It’s great that we can use Sirius but a TOTAL miss by requiring it to stream vis LTE! Sirius is a satellite radio company and one of its huge values is great audio in remote locations. Rivian using LTE means massive cutouts during highway driving. Unusable. Can’t we get the satellite stream???? Software update to allow satellite reset??? Anyone else have an issue with this?

It doesn't have the satellite antenna, so no amount of software will change it. FWIW, my XM stream cut out in my old Camaro every time I drove by a tree. Good thing there aren't that many in WA....

I don’t think my Lexus 570 had a satellite antennae?

You are correct it had the satellite receiver. Now I need to find an aftermarket satellite receiver to make it work. Anyone know of a good solution? Besides magic unicorns?

We drove up I-25 in Wyoming and across I-90 to Red Lodge, Montana. Our streaming worked the entire time. I think it has a very large cache so the music doesn't get interrupted when the cell service temporarily cuts out. Now if you are camping in an area without cell coverage you are eventually going to run out of cache.

No way I'd put one of those aftermarket XM kits in my Rivian with the wires and dash mounts. This isn't 2006.

Yep, XM in my Kia EV also doesn't like hills/valleys. None of those in WA either, of course. In flat country, it's great. I mostly listen to Audible in my R1T...the Audible feed syncs up really well. Walking the dog, driving, no glitches in the stream.

I grew up on the high plains of Eastern Wyoming, and satellite radio was a godsend. But here, in civilization, in the 2020's, it's the worst option.
