Despite being 200 miles from a service center, I've had positive experiences with mobile service and service in general. From my own experiences and those of others, it's clear that the quality of the service center is more important than its proximity. The Atlanta service center, one of the original, is a prime example. The techs there are excellent, and their expertise has even been shared with the Nashville center, where my mobile services are dispatched.

I have confidence in servicing my Rivian more than many other brands.

I also use the Nashville (Franklin) SC as I'm in Huntsville. Great experiences thus far.

Change your Postal Code to Vancouver and get a Gen 1 if you want to use your benefits and get a bigger battery. Most of the folks got a Gen 1 with their pre-order benefits.

You can get still get Standard Gen 2 if you want the new enhancements and stack your pre-order benefits.

Rivian is offering both Gen 1 and Gen 2 options to customers who purchase a vehicle from the shop.

I would be happy to have any of the below Gen 1 / Gen 2 vehicles and use a pre-order voucher on it.

My guide and I did talk about that option. He said they could not transfer inventory from Vancouver to the east, so I would have needed to pick it up there and drive it all the way back. I'm sure it's a great road trip, but I don't have that kind of time unfortunately.

It's been quite discouraging to see all the configurations available in the US shops and even in Vancouver at times, and practically nothing in Montreal.

I'll be following up with my guide about the exception that @R1Tacoma mentioned about on RivianTracker to see if there's any way to have it apply...

I would check how much it would cost to transport the SUV using truck / rail transport on your own dime. You will have to set it up on your own if you want to take advantage of your pre-order discount and not drive the distance.

I personally would have no problem paying for truck transport at my own cost to save $20,000 - $30,000 off Rivian current pricing.

I wouldn't say I'm on the pot! No Max Pack in Vancouver, and guide said that even if there was one, it's too late for the voucher because it had to be delivered before the 30th. I've been actively working on this for a long time now, trying to get a Dual Max Pack R1S.

At this point, I can only hope that they will accept to extend the voucher for the few of us in this situation where we weren't ever able to buy a vehicle that matched our needs.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. I understand that this voucher-ending announcement was made at the beginning of the quarter. I get that Rivian didn't deliver any to your local center, but Vancouver had some as you've said. It sucks that Rivian didn't ramp up to your local area fast enough for an easy sale but there were other options.

Hopefully you'll still consider a Rivian as they are great vehicles and I'm sure you will be happy with it.

I ordered my amazing R1S beast in November 2021. Got notified of delivery in January 2024, and it happened fast.
Rivian warned me about being too far away from a service center. Closest to me is 300 miles. Had option to pick it up at that location or $1k extra to have it put on a flatbed and delivered to my driveway. I chose the latter.
