What mode was it in? That sounds like chill mode. I never spend anytime there. I am in sport, insane, etc. They fell very dialed in there for my usage. My Y had acceleration boost so it had sport mode as well.

Doing tight parking with my R1T is a royal PITA because of the imprecise throttle or maybe it is the aggressive hold braking feature. Hard to separate the two at <5mph due to the brake hold.
All purpose is better for subtle maneuvering.

Updated to 2024.47.01. I noticed in the update notes the "enhanced acceleration" line is now gone. I guess they decided to pull it. No love for Gen1. :(
Looking at the notes on RivianTracker for GEN2 seems it is only related to Tri-Motor

any observations yet from gen2 tris out there? :D

maybe placebo, but I feel like midrange acceleration is better?
subtle maneuvering is still the same and painful for minor adjustments in my garage parking maneuver.

As a new R1T owner that has to inch the truck into a tight spot to park, I have to agree with this. There is a bit of a latency, or more pressure needed on the pedal, that makes very fine control a bit of a "rubber-band experience." I know I can get used to it, but the difference between the R1T and the Model X in this regard is very noticeable.

Hope it's something Rivian can change with OTA and that they're working on it.
Yep. I have noticed this too. I usually avoid high regen, as it makes low speed throttle calibration worse.

Got to hand it to Tesla on their throttle calibration. Very smooth.

They need to copy the Tesla throttle mapping. It’s very linear yet still responsive. You can move the car a millimeter at a time if you want.
Agree. My June 2023 R1S acceleration was very unresponsive. I had to practically floor it to get decent acceleration. And backing up in the first gen R1S made me think I was going to go through the garage wall. Tesla has it just about right.

I wont' buy the R2 if the accelerator mapping isn't good since that's one of the primary interfaces with the vehicle.
