You guys obviously don’t live in the frigid north lol. All roads here are crap or gravel for at least 50% of the year. So if there’s a way to make all-purpose snappier, I’m all for it!
I used to. Spent over 30 years in WI and that's enough.

I'm worried that it will make the "tap accelerator to resume assistive cruise control" (after 30 seconds of being in "Hold" when at traffic lights for example) even more jerky than it currently is

How about a custom mode that lets me pick and choose what I want?
They already allow for some fine tuning within the individual modes, just not throttle mapping. It'd be ideal if they just added a "power" or "responsiveness" menu in the different drive modes like they do for suspension height and damping firmness.

Put me in the camp that *DOES NOT* want a sharper throttle mapping. Something close to linear still gives you all the power when you want it, but gives you far finer control over throttle inputs. If it's too sharp, you lose all that fine fidelity and the vehicle becomes much harder to control anywhere the limit or to be smooth...your passengers would likely prefer a less sharp throttle. My biggest gripe with sport mode in many cars these days is that the throttle mapping is too damn sharp and most don't offer a custom mode to be able to pick all the sporty bits with a softer throttle map or softer suspension, etc. Even worse is the early days when they were refining the throttle map it made developing muscle memory difficult since every update was slightly different.
I don't want jumpy throttle on a 835 HP vehicle. That's what you do to make slow cars feel quick. I like the kind of driver my truck makes me.

They need to copy the Tesla throttle mapping. It’s very linear yet still responsive. You can move the car a millimeter at a time if you want.

I agree....don't need it to just "feel" faster due to overly aggressive throttle mapping. Hope that isn't the case.

Plus that would be even harder on my tires than I already am! Haha!

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem

100%

I have driven far too many rental vehicles with extremely short throw throttle response to make them "feel" fast and I absolutely hate it.

Please please please do not make AP into Sport-Light.

Most likely nothing more than a small modification of throttle mapping. As for “bad” ride quality in low, that is inherent and unavoidable. The suspension has physical max and min range of movement. There are physical bump stops. These are either rubber or elastomer bushings, put there to absorb impact and avoid permanent damage. The lower you set your ride height, the less range of movement you have in that direction and the more you are likely to hit those bump stops. If the road is rough enough that you’re bumping into the stops, just put it back on standard and give the suspension more room to work.

Exactly! Seems every rental I have had in a while has throttle mapping where 90% of power is available at about 50% throttle. And then essentially nothing more the rest of the throttle press...

It will be interesting to see what the adjustment is.

For me power in all purpose standard height is plenty, half throttle still gets me across the intersection in front of everyone else. What I do notice though is full throttle gets a little squirrelly, I wonder if that is what they are addressing.

Actually a chill mode would be nice to help control lead foot syndrome around town!

I thought that is why we have the ungodly slow conserve mode in the quad Motors.

Yea, but that creates more front tire wear around town as the rear motors are disengaged. Tesla has a chill mode for reduced performance and throttle response which is good when not on the freeway if you want to optimize efficiency
