I have an R1S with only 4k miles on it. Rear tire had to be replaced and ever since that replacement my regenerative braking has been acting strange.
Sometimes when regen braking even when not braking hard, it has a feeling like the vehicle is sporadically going into neutral and eases up on the braking. I keep my regen settings on high. It's also not smooth, so for example if you're going 80mph and just release the throttle, it will give a feeling of little regen until it slows down to 65, then it regens harder , and then around 45mph is completely goes to zero regen for a split second, then at 35 it increases Regen to the expected "high" level. So when traveling in stop and go traffic around 35-50mph I'm constantly getting the feeling during Regen that the vehicle is going into neutral during regent, slipping on ice, hydroplaning, etc. randomly.
It has nothing to do with the charge level, temperature, or going down a steep incline. I have another R1T that doesn't do this in the same environment and it only started after a tire replacement. The tire replacement is only 4,000 miles difference of wear between the other tires.
I'm going to keep testing this by putting in conserve mode, and traction control off and see if either of those stop the strange behavior.
Had anybody only had to replace one tire, or use a spare tire and notice strange regen behavior?
