I've had it from almost the very first day, 9/22. SC looked at it but didn't fix it. Still happens everytime the steering wheel moves in or out. Learned to just ignore it...
Use Riviot’s approach of applying mineral oil to the surface against which the bottom of the steering column rubs when it moves.

I may have unwittingly just made an improvement to my steering column noise issue. Like others here, every time I entered / exited my seat and steering column would adjust to my easy entry / exit preferences.

Yesterday, I realized with my settings I couldn't see the speed limit on the display behind the steering wheel, so I made an adjustment by raising the steering wheel for driving. That fixed my entry / exit noise issue - but TWO things happened - so I'm not sure which one made the difference.
1) by raising the steering wheel for driving, the steering column now sits higher - thus the friction on the foam below the steering column is lower - may be the fix
2) It seems with this change, the sequence the steering column follows to adjust from entry / exit to driving position has changed. Before, it went down/ up and then would move out / in. Now, after my change, it moves out / in and then up / down. So now, the steering column is even higher (for roomy entry / exit) when it moves in and out.

Not sure why that sequence (#2) changed, but clearly my changing the steering wheel height had that impact.

Hope this helps others.

I had mobile service address mine. Apparently it is a known thing with a designated fix. Of course the fix is simply applying some lubricant specified by Rivian to the column. As explained by the tech, the column rubs against something when in the lowest position and moving in or out.

Mobil service lubed up my squeaky shaft when they did some other work for me. He used a Mercedes seal lube that he swore by hasn't squeaked since.

Okay, I’ve been following this thread for a while and the title has always bothered me. To the point now I just have to ask. Did the OP really mean “flatulence” not “fatulence”?
