Do we know what storage is available with the R1S? Sure, there's the frunk and the large cargo area in the back of the vehicle, but any compartments to help organize or is it just open like an old station wagon (or any other SUV from the last 30 years)?
I am so enamored with the gear tunnel on the R1T but know it won't be on the R1S, so I'm just trying to get a feel for how to keep lots of "stuff" in the vehicle all the time without it bouncing around.

We are all still waiting for this information, I have an email in with CS to see when the R1S manual will be released but have not heard.

What we know so far is everything in front of the second row is the same as the R1T. If you do not get the spare tire, the space under the rear deck is available for storage.

Other than that, I am assuming not much else. Similar to my Jeep GC.

Does the R1S have storage under the middle row seats?

I read somewhere that it does not. Do the 2nd row seats sit on tracks so they can slide forward, allowing access to the 3rd row, perhaps?

I think the available storage is pretty straightforward with the R1S and what you see is what you get. It's an SUV, not a closet on wheels. Compared to the R1T, the only storage areas that are missing are the gear tunnel and the under-seat storage, although the latter has yet to be confirmed since Rivian has been so quiet on the R1S. I'd imagine there will be some aftermarket organizer solutions available somewhere down the road, but Rivian doesn't currently offer anything like that in the gear shop.

I was told the second row seats do slide. Not sure how much though.

Just chatted w/ Rivian CS and specifically asked this question. She confirmed the seats do slide fore/aft.

"The second row of the R1S has a 60/40 split, can fold nearly flat, and can slide forward/backward to increase leg room and allow for easier access to the third row."

Additionally, I asked about under-floor storage behind the 3rd row and was told it's pretty much all spare tire, so don't expect a Hondy Odyssey-esque tub below the floor (unless you like rolling sans a spare)

"There is underfloor storage for the spare tire, but not much additional space for anything else."

Just read @ATL_R1S 's reply below.

Huh, I was under the impression they were a 40/20/40 split. That's what they show in the animations. I was looking forward to that, because the normal 60/40 split means you lose a (normal-sized) seat, even for narrow items.

Rivian has always quoted 60/40, even though it technically does 40/20/40 because of something like the seats only sliding fore/aft in a 60/40. This was the same in my Land Cruiser. Middle could fold down independently, but sliding was broken 60/40.
