Been lucky to be testing out the prototype charger for a few weeks. It’s been working really great and I’ve gotten so many “wow that isn’t stock?” Adventure High Tech knocked it out of the park with this. On a near $100k vehicle this is what should have come on it to begin with.

The implementation and design is thoughtful and install was easy. The magnets for MagSafe are strong, no issues with sliding even in harder turns or braking.

The fact that the USB chargers are available now for the dashcam and other uses is an added bonus since this uses the original power from the charging pad.

Compared to everything else that’s been developed for the Rivian aftermarket (and I, like many others, have been watching closely), based on design and functionality I like this the best.

The small sliding pocket has been a useful place for parking passes, smaller wallets, the Rivian key (either the key fob or card) my eye glasses fit in them great too. It’s a handy discrete little compartment.

I’ve had no issues charging two phones on some long journeys and no issues with heat whether during charging or being left in the sun for a long period.

Added some pics, but know this was V1 prototype with the smooth finish V2 is the current version with the more textured finish. I uploaded a farther shot/pic so you can appreciate the OEM look compared to the finishes of the vehicle.

Got mine in the mail yesterday and just got it installed this morning. It’s super easy to install! I had surgery on my elbow yesterday and was able to install it one handed in about 5 minutes.
Great fit and finish. Excited to have functioning chargers while driving!

+1 definitely recommend this one! I tried a cheaper one that was OK but this is well worth the extra cost.

@Mcdubjr Any recommendations on that tape question?
No, I don't have a specific recommendation. I personally don't find it necessary as the product does fit snuggly and I would just push it back down if I accidently pulled it up. That being said I'm sure double sticky tape could make this less likely to happen - I would just caution against using something super strong as it might make it too hard to remove!

@Prime Thanks for posting and for being one of my testers!

Awesome to hear! Installation is something I've been worried about as you never know how easy it will be till it gets out in the wild! Thanks so much for posting!

Thank you sir! I love hearing that - gives me confidence in releasing more inventory!

I've got another batch nearing completion - I anticipate another release Mon or Tuesday.

I used Gorilla double sided tape. Without it it was too easy to pull up.

Yeah, have a link? My worry is thickness. I do not know how thick, or thin, the tape needs to be to work perfectly... Do you need the ultra thin double sided tape? Or just 'normal' thickness?

I’ve tried about 4 different options and right now I’m just back to oem with a mag safe puck just plugged from the arm rest. I was going to try to diy something but couldnt find a donor charging pad but now I’m waiting for this to come back in stock.

Thanks! I will try it out. Could be something I include in the future!
Fwiw I found the charging block didn’t click in on mine. I slid it on that rail and it locates it on one axis but it seemed like it would rattle so I also used a little Gorilla tape between the block and the tray. Now it’s solid.

I also couldn’t get the Rivian harness to “clip” in. It does slide in and so far it has charged reliably so maybe it isn’t an issue…. But I expected it to click in, which it doesn’t. If I tug on the wiring it will pull out.

Yeah, it should clip in but if it's not coming out shouldn't be a problem.
