Strategic error.

I bought a new Model 3P late last year fully expecting NOT to see my R1T for another year at minimum.
Two weeks ago I got an order confirmation request, guide, March/April delivery estimate and now pending R1 shop access.

Sorry I haven't been paying attention but:
1. How has trade in value been for people?
2. Have delivery estimates tightened up or are they still all over the map? I could definitely benefit from a delay.

Just a thought. You could change your config to a R1S or to a Max Pack, that will certainly push your estimate out if that is your goal.

No insight into current used car market but I guess it isn't great for a newish Tesla.

Pretty crappy timing for sure. At least you got the $7500 discounted price which should help with selling it at a minimum loss. I wouldn't even try trade-in.

1. Trades are down quite a bit from last year. Definitely recommend checking multiple options.
2. Rivian delivery estimates seem to be a bit more conservative than they were, meaning if they gave you March/ April they will be trying to get your truck done just before that or in the early part of your window. Time from confirmation/ guide to delivery can still vary quite a bit though. I received the confirm email in Nov 22 and my window is Apr/ May 23.

You can ask your guide to slow it down if you need to. Others have done it.

Rivian trade offers are pretty awful - try elsewhere. I got a valuation, just for due diligence, and it was by far the worst offer I had.

Same. Rivians offer on my trade was offensively low. Literally lower than the next-lowest offer by more than $10k.

It doesn't hurt to get an offer from Rivian, and only takes a day. If it's not to your liking, just say no thank you and look elsewhere.
