Steve Vai is the most incredible guitarist, he is like an eloquent gymnist shredding as he does ballet.
We were fourth row, directly in front of his part of the stage.

The USB ports in the Rivian are power only, no data. Bluetooth is the only option. You want calls on your handset and not the speaker...?? I guess you could connect a music-only device on BT, maybe?

I can't find the Mini Disc slot on my Gen 1 R1S... is that a Gen 2 feature?

Not entirely true. You can use the console usb to save drivecam footage. I've heard that some have been able to play movies on the screen by re-formatting/re-naming their videos.

Rivian just needs to program the system to play back stored audio.

Another dead tech that will never come back to cars.
Sadly probably true, but dying thanks to the lost revenue stream of subscription data services not because it isn't the most stable modern way to play music for anyone adventuring. ?

It's no different or less stable/adventurous than loading your media on a phone or other device and playing it from there. I have a ton permanently stored on the phone. Works anywhere.

Mine was having a lot of skipping in the Spotify app yesterday. Ended up having to restart the entertainment system, and that fixed it.

Following up here to my original post -- I realized the Rivian Tidal app does have some settings around essentially the bit rate, and by default is set pretty high. I knocked it down to 320Kbps without a large loss in quality, and I haven't had any streaming issues since.

Cheers,
Ron

If you can hear a difference by going *down* to 320 kbps you have amazing hearing

Yeah that was my point. I should have used the word “noticeable” instead of “large”.
