Hey guys,

My Gen1 R1S Suspension frequently clicks/adjusts when driving without me making any adjustments. I'm not sure if it's normal, so my main concern is that it may be losing air somehow.

Does anyone know if the clicking and suspension adjustments are normal?

The clicking is normal as those are solenoids adjusting front and rear ride heights. If you have ride height in auto there will be many adjustments. I keep mine at a fixed height and no auto

Thank you! I'll turn my auto off too, I think that preferable anyway. I'm sure that'll fix it now.

Rivians will occasionally re-adjust for load equalization reasons. If you stop particularly hard, sometimes the brakes will hold the front end of the vehicle down, which results in it readjusting, then needing to readjust back again after taking off.

Keep in mind - if you have a dual motor, you will have to turn auto off every time you drive. It resets after being parked for 4 hours. Personally I don't mind it at all - I like to eek out all the effeciency I can on the freeway. But there are at least 5 dozen threads on here with people raging about it lol

"Frequent" is vague and subjective.

If the suspension adjusts after having parked in the cold for several hours, then that's normal. The R1 has air springs. Air condenses and lose pressure when subjected to cold temperatures. Party balloons are less buoyant when left out overnight? Bicycle tires can loose pressure overtime and left out in the cold? Same thing. As mentioned above, the suspension can also readjust after hard compression events.

What isn't normal is if it's adjusting every few minutes and never settling during the drive. You could have a faulty sensor or a leaky air spring. If there is a leak, and you're observant, you would notice the vehicle sitting off-kilter, after having parked for a while. In which case, submit a service request.
