I just put new 20” wheels and the new Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT - RIV compound on my Quad - 275/60R20. They’re stamped with RIV and “Electric Ready”. After a few days of city driving, I’m quite happy. Taking 500 mile road trip this week and plan full report.
Good choice! I am a tire designer at Goodyear and worked on this tire. I am looking forward to hearing your report.

Stick with the 21's. They are best for your intended use and are still capable off road. Don't go chasing the look of aggressive tires if you're already concerned about the trade-offs. I have a lifted diesel truck with 37's and I like the roaring of the tires and the exhaust, but only because that vehicle is what it's supposed to be. I'd be pissed if my R1T was a tenth as loud. Anywho, my 2¢.
Why ? Only one expensive tire option and no AT tires at all. The best solution is to move to 275/60/20 and have plenty of tires options.

21" is a dead end , Rivian discontinued them for g2

Best range. Over 35k miles on mine. Capable enough off-road. Very happy with mine.

What if we want both? I want the road miles & quiet of the AS and I want the macho look of the AT. Most of my driving is on regular roads but I have been doing a lot of "off-roading" since the city decided to re-do the neighbourhood alleys.
Closest you can find is an All Weather, @ksurfier is running Yokohama Geolander CV 4S and we're awaiting real world results:

You better do a full separate write-up! Be sure to include your former 20" tire/efficiency for comparison.

You will get the same range (actually better) with 20" AS tires. No reason to pay 2k for 4 tires every 20k miles. There is a separate discussion on this forum with full comparison between 20" options for these who currently on 21". You pay 1200 for wheels and then 1k for 4 tires.

There is no reason to be dependant on 1 vendor with single tire option.

Here’s last 280 miles. Average speed of 40 mph. 2.15 MPK adjusted:
Treadwear is ~11/32 after 2400 miles, seems like it’s slowed down, so hopefully will get another 15-20k miles or so…

Coming from 21" myself who switched to 20" 275/60/20 all seasons tires. Both are great with driving and efficiency. I bought an extra 21" tire when I first got my Rivian to put it at home just in case there is a blowout since I know it will takes days or week for local store to get them in. It really do suck that there is only one damn option for it.

I'm honestly surprised the 20 vs 21 debate has lasted this long. I think we figured out the limited options issue >2 years ago when 21s were first delivered. With so baby 20" AS options in 116+ load index getting similar efficiency, it really makes no sense to maintain 21s anymore.

Same for me. My OEM 21" tires have been great on and off road. Great range. And surprisingly MUCH MUCH (did I say MUCH?) quieter than the OEM 20" tires.
