TANK MODE: When is update coming?

Have to ask does Gen 2 have the mechanical capabilities to perform a tank turn. I know Gen 1 does not.

Gen 1 quads have the mechanical capability, it just won't be implemented due to the stress it induces on the drive units. Capable yes, reliable no

One of the other "dog dads" at the dog park works in the film industry as a transportation coordinator (arranging vehicles for movies/TV shows, driving vehicles when it's just "driving" and not stunt driving, etc.) He recently revealed that he was involved with the very first Rivian promo videos, with the first hand-built moving vehicle. Including being the driver of the first tank-turn video.

He said it took them three days to get the software to actually work properly to allow tank turn, and during the filming, Wassym was crouched on the floor of the back seat with a laptop plugged in to the truck, constantly tweaking stuff to manually control the motors to make it successfully tank turn. He also thought it was 100% gimmick, not useful at all.

He does love the R1T, and said he can't wait for used ones to drop to his acceptable price range. (He owns somewhere near a dozen vehicles, often used in movies and TV shows.)

Cmon... they aren't all that bad. I have a 49" curved monitor for drafting, blueprints and of course Rivian Forums I had a Samsung 3D TV for about 12 years. It was great, but glasses sucked and finding 3D content was a bit of a pain. Okay, I suppose I see your point a bit.
