I'm betting many of these cases are caused by Tesla's ADAS systems.

Pretty lousy article. I am no Tesla fanboy (or hater, really) but the author of the referenced LendingTree article undermines their credibility when they say stuff like this:

Going fully electric may not mean as much if you’re a menace on the streets.
Really, the benefits of driving an EV are diminished if the person behind the wheel is a jerk?

Would be much better if they offered some insightful theories as to why some marques had more or fewer incidents, but they'd probably offend those people. Here are some of my guesses:

I'd wager this group is mostly made up of both older risk-averse drivers:

Rivian R1T R1S Tesla drivers named worst drivers on Georgia roads 1741865048788-0o

Dodge Rams are more likely to be bro-dozers driven by reckless men.

Would be interesting to see the breakdown of Subaru accidents since they are high on the list. Most Subaru drivers I see are safer drivers, unless it's a WRX or a BRZ.

Things like this are why training your ADAS on owner driving characteristics is bad. You'll inevitably introduce some really, really bad data into the training data that will cause unpredictable results during use...like the Teslas that would clip curbs using FSD. So many Tesla owners curb their wheels that there is at least one company offering wheel edge guards because that's easier than learning how to drive properly.

so true, its obvious who's using it when you're around them. They slow down quickly when a car moves in front, zoom off when the lane is clear, only to suddenly slow again. Yo-Yo'ing back and forth.

clipping curbs is not a training data issue. Clipping curbs is a latency issue because your planning is not fast enough and the predicted trajectory is wrong.

Tesla fixed this issue when they improved the latency. I suspect they knew this all along

The other issue is they are designing self driving for wildly different sized vehicles. That's a hard problem
