Sorry to hear that..For someone not privy… elaborate on hot glue trick lol… had a similar issue come up myself.
*psa there are some fairly substantial blind spots in our 360 cameras…* backed right into the brush guard on this truck parked behind me (sticking outta his spot by like 3.5 feet) and never once showed up in the camera… time to go back to the old fashioned mirrors only method of reversing.
Hmmm feel like the area of my dent is just not gunna work for this lol. Might have to just bite the bullet and get in touch with body shop.Sorry to hear that..
Let us know if it works with the Rivian paint. Fyi There's a chance it can pull the paint off depending on how well the paint is bonded
Did your proximity alarms go off when your accident happened?Hmmm feel like the area of my dent is just not gunna work for this lol. Might have to just bite the bullet and get in touch with body shop.

Nope. Literally nothing it was very strange. Obviously backing up at like 2 mph but no alarms, nothing visual on the 360 camera or anything. My wife thought someone actually threw something at the truck because she was staring at the cameras and also saw that there was nothing near the truck according to the 360Did your proximity alarms go off when your accident happened?
Thanks for posting - I probably needed a bit of a reality check because I’ve become relatively dependent on the tech for parking and such.Nope. Literally nothing it was very strange. I have kinda fought it for years (old habits die hard, maybe stubborn male pride, who knows) but when I got the rivian, the cameras were so clear and there were so many I just gave in and adopted them as the new way things worked and within 1 month of ownership this happensThanks for posting - I probably needed a bit of a reality check because I’ve become relatively dependent on the tech for parking and such.
Honestly, I was under impression that the Rivian would force stop if about to reverse into an object.I have kinda fought it for years (old habits die hard, maybe stubborn male pride, who knows) but when I got the rivian, the cameras were so clear and there were so many I just gave in and adopted them as the new way things worked and within 1 month of ownership this happens.
I try to justify it as maybe the cameras simply didn’t pick up the brush guard on the other truck since it’s smaller metal sticking out that shouldn’t normally be there (in regards to the sensors not going off) but man my wife’s infinity will literally force stop you in you backing up to a kids bike so kinda feel like I’m trying to make excuses for rivian lol…
I thought that as well. After this I’m too terrified to test it again lol… yea luckily I am in houston which from other threads here seems to be the location for one of their primary body shops anyways so I’m confident it can be fixed good as new, just bummed that I had to learn the limitations of our systems the hard way lol.Honestly, I was under impression that the Rivian would force stop if about to reverse into an object.
Your damage will be tough to fix with hot glue but a good body shop will get her good as new - good luck brother
