It is possible. It's quite buggy, in my experience. But it technically has the feature.

Issues I see with bluetooth:
  1. Bluetooth audio stutters and cuts out EVERY time I get in the truck. After a minute it settles in and works better. But that first song is a bad experience.
  2. Album art is buggy. Sometimes it doesn't load, at all. Sometimes it loads the WRONG art.
  3. Song info is buggy. Sometimes it will not update the song title. Sometimes it says the song is 23:59:59 long.
I’ve had better luck than @CommodoreAmiga as I stream XM, Qobuz & TIDAL a lot and haven’t had many issues. I’m not a Spotify listener as their SQ isn’t a strong suit
I also haven't had any Bluetooth issues at all.

I've had SiriusXM in my car for about 5 years. I don't think I've listened to the radio for years.

Does anyone find Bluetooth streaming cumbersome? I like the satellite radio but I don't like screwing with it every time I get in and out of the car.

What's up with Spotify? Has anybody like, try that out because now it's in their car?

I think TuneIn might be okay but the graphics on the screen look like something my kid threw up in grade school.

Why does the radio sucks so bad?

What am I missing? Can anybody help me out to make life better?
I have good news and more good news.

Just picked up my truck today. The (premium) Spotify integration is pretty flawless IMO. I've been using Carplay + Spotify for the last five years in my ICE and it's basically an identical implementation in the Rivian.

I wonder if many of the complaints here are based on the free version of Spotify, which (independent of Rivian) has limitations on skipping and playlists and whatnot due to music licencing. That's just the way free Spotify works.

Also, FWIW, my Rivian "ambassador" at the SC today told me that native SiriusXM support is on the way. He did not disclose timing but given that I didn't even ask about Sirius, I'm speculating that it could be sooner rather than later.

Hmm. Good to know! Helps to hear people are having different experiences. I’ve never had any complaints when streaming from spotify (from myself or others), but I also have my audio streaming quality set to “Very high”, bandwidth be damned.
I am set to Very High as well... But even spotify at it's highest bitrate is objectively low compared to the competition.

lol, really we can fix this by simply upgrading to the premium paid version. Several have attempted just that myself included without “good news and more good news”

I think XM and other upgrades are coming too. In Days, Weeks, Months or Year’s. But if someone refers to the Ambassador it’s just gotta happen s00n

Native Tidal app would be sweet for hifi and master quality options

Not sure I understand what you're saying.

You're using premium spotify and you don't think it works in the Rivian? Works flawlessly for me. Or at least as flawlessly as it does with Carplay in my other car. I don't detect any difference.

Or are you just saying that you don't want to upgrade to premium?

I had ignored it for quite some time as I didn't want ANOTHER monthly subscription after netflix, hulu, etc, etc, etc. I'm not one that really pays much attention to the music. It's background noise for me. But, of the choices that were available via internet radio, selecting multiple "favorites", the song selection by those channels were just horrible! As noted, I don't pay much attention, but they were so bad that it was annoying. And that's across multiple genre's. Would get 1 decent song that fit and then 10 songs I had never heard before and some very strange sounding music that didn't fit in with the category. Finally got bad enough that I chose to sign up for Spotify. Didn't realize that it's free to do so! I guess they have a premium version that you can pay for as well but the free version is working great for me. Put in my general favorite artists and it plays music that makes sense to the selections. Works for me. Also hated the other version that when such bad songs came up, I couldn't skip past them. They were broadcast live, so you were stuck with what was play, or change the channel. With Spotify, you can skip past a song. Much more like what Tesla offered now and works wonderfully for me. Had I known they had a free version of it, I would have signed up for it on day one! I had the free version of (Pandora I think) in the Tesla and it was very similar in function.

I haven’t tried it with the latest update BUT it’s the “works for me” so everything is fine for everyone comments I was referring to.

And where in the heck is my Amazon Music HD access?

Qobuz is available in at least CD quality: 16-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 44.1kHz (a bit rate of 1,411Kbps

Spotify Premium supports the compressed, lossy Ogg Vorbis audio format and streams at 320kbps when at the Very High setting.

I was a SiriusXM user since 02, I started using Spotify 2.5hr yrs ago when I got my Tesla, it quickly replaced SiriusXM.

Seems fine in the Rivian although I'd like to be able to have user profiles tied to different Spotify accounts.

It works for me but I'm not going to say I'm so power user, I also know if I ask Alexa to play something she'll most likely try to tell me about some shell fish breeding habits or some other random not what I asked response. (I hate you Alexa so much!)
This made me laugh so hard this morning. I had a very similar experience with SiriusXM that made me finally quit my subscription. I liked to listen to NPR radio when I was commuting. Every time I asked Siri to open "NPR radio" in SiriusXM I would get the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia (NPR).

Color me not happy.

Just got my truck today. I set up my Rivian playlist last week. No problems connecting the account, but it would only play the list in a random shuffle order. I had the list in a specific order I really wanted, especially for the first song. Had to be somewhere so didn't have much time to figure out if there was a way to play it in order instead of random. I just use the free account so that might be the issue. I know I have more control when using it on my computer than my phone. Either way, it was easy to connect and see my library. As for sound, I'm not picky. Nothing special at normal volumes, but sounded great when the volume was really cranked up. Unfortunately that didn't last long with my wife and inlaws in the truck with me.
Might be time to get a new wife or in-laws?

How cumbersome is the xm app changing stations while driving and can you restart songs that have already started? I never really used the app when I had xm. I loved being able to change the station and then restart the song from the beginning.

Has there been any indication as to whether the Sirius/XM integration would be through cell tower connectivity (ie Tunein) or by actual satellite signal? If by cell tower connectivity it is not actually an improvement. You are still limited to cell tower coverage.

The hardware for satellite-based SiriusXM is not present in the R1T/S, as delivered.

Thank you for the information. Looks like I still need to determine how to access the FM antenna lead to install a Sirius FM Direct Adapter.
