So the chemicals you use at home dont cause any harm? Not to mention you actually touching the car with a mitt? LOL come on man. Automatic car washes wouldn’t exist if they destroyed every car that went through.
Ummm....

I'm going to try and be nice here, but you couldn't be more wrong.

I take it you don't know anything about auto detailing or what the two bucket system invovles.
And no, the "chemicals I use at home" don't case harm. I use very specific things. For example, here is my shampoo. https://www.detailedimage.com/CarPro-M53/Reset-Intensive-Car-Shampoo-P930/500-ml-S1/

Read about it and educate yourself...OR as I said, do what you want, but at least have a proper understanding. If you don't care how your car looks, go ahead and continue to use the auto washes. I don't give two shits.

Cigarettes' wouldn't exist if they destroyed everyone who used them!!! What an insane analogy. Thanks for the laugh this morning. :CWL: :CWL: :CWL: :CWL: :CWL:

My plan was to get a silver R1 and use the car wash. Ended up with a ECG and am about to ppf it so yes, I'm hand washing it. Like others have noted-I set mine to lowest to get to the middle part. I use a step ladder for the top glass part.
Ppf on glass interesting. What kind?

This might be the dumbest post I've seen on this site and that's saying something.

Your words in this thread do not equal that of someone who understands detailing.

I mean something as basic as "its just soap and water" should immediately invalidate anything you say. That and the "they wouldn't make auto washes if they destroyed car finishes" take the cake. That's like something a 5th grader would say about math class.

So I'm probably never running my R1S through a car wash, and in the past when I took care of my cars that didn't be come appliances (lol) I was a big two bucket guy. Today was my first hand wash for my R1S, and my goodness she's a big girl. I'm 6'1 and I simply couldn't get to the top middle part of the glass with my mitt. How are you guys doing this? Some sort of step ladder? My X5 wasn't this tall or wide so I could get just to it, plus I had running boards.

Anyone? Bueller?
Step stool, but to be honest I havent washed it that much in 6+ months

I use a lot of Carpro stuff but as of recent I’ve been using Apex Auto Care products and I’m really liking them.

Use an automatic car wash… what a bunch of Boy Scouts :giggle:
I drive an extra 15 miles out of my way to the LaserWash 360 car wash in Silverton, OR. I met the owner early on and he explained it detail how they set up the system to use lower PSI so vehicles like Rivian wouldn't need to worry. Great system - great results.

Oh, and the Green Lantern has front to back complete PPF.

LMAO you're an idiot. The way you talk to people through out the forums really shows the kind of person you are, do us all a favor and take your fucking douche canoe back to the BMW forums...

Triggered much? :CWL:

You're ruining a thread for people who understand how to properly wash their cars, by spouting things even a child would understand after doing some basic reading.

You came in here asking stupid questions. I answered it and you got angry. *shrug*

Just leave the thread already.

I've had my T for 16 month. I've washed it once. I just don't have the time or energy to wash it more frequently. Plus it's a Truck. It doesn't affect my self worth if it is dirty. The only part that I need to have clean is the glass so I can see thru it. That doesn't include the stupid glass roof either. I have a sun shade installed and I doubt that I'll ever take it out. The view up from the driver seat isn't spectacular.

The Op and that "other guy" both need to step away from the keyboard and go outside for a while.

i lower the vehicle to lowest setting to reach but im also deathly afraid to wash the glass on the roof for fear of cracking it so dont really wash that area. yes its fairly dirty all the time but half the year i had the sunshade, other half it rains so doesnt bother me.
You're from WA, so I think you have your fractions out of balance. It's more like it rains 9 months of the year.
