Sidewall damage from a nasty curbing. Just discovered on the eve of a 200 mile drive with the family. Argh. What would you do?
Technically you don't need to replace a tire with the same tire (doesn't even need to be the same diameter; e.g. people drive with donut spares for hundreds of miles). Open diffs and independent motors means you won't cause any mechanical damage. Eventually you'll probably want a matching set for treadwear and aesthetic reasons though.Well yeah, 21" are fine unless you need to replace one. Then, it really depends on where you are whether you can get one replaced the same day or whether you have to wait a week while the local shop gets one shipped in.
In this case, the OP needs a replacement before a trip the next day. That can only be done in certain locations, but not in most places.
