Oh man. I feel silly. Had tried the reset procedure yesterday but I think I was pausing too much between the presses. Watched a YouTube short this AM demoing it and realized I was doing it wrong. Just did it again, and the problem is solved! For anyone needing the reset in the future, the presses really need to be successive. No pauses. Many thanks all for jumping in and helping me out.
Can you link to the short that demonstrated this? I can't get mine to reset.

V2 is only slightly better than V1.

V3 is where it's at.

Grok:

Initiate Calibration: Press the external tonneau cover button (located on the truck bed) three times quickly, then press and hold it for 5-7 seconds on the fourth press.

Cycle the Cover: After initiating, fully open and then fully close the tonneau cover using the button or the infotainment screen.Check

Notification: If successful, you should receive a notification on the vehicle's infotainment screen indicating that the tonneau cover calibration is complete.

So if nothing happens after depressing on the fourth press for 5-7 seconds, it's cooked?

Am I supposed to have the truck a certain mode? I've tried it with the tailgate open and closed. On the first press it moves towards the closed position (which it's already closed) about 1/4" and then the best lights flash three times.

It does sound like yours needs to be reset. I had to do the procedure twice to get it to work. You can also reset it from the display but I didn't try that.

Picture's worth a thousand words. I swear I was doing the 3 initial presses fast until I saw the video. Worked like a charm after that. Thanks a ton!
Happy it helped. Was the exact same for me. Did it so many times that didn’t work, until I saw it done in this short.
