The horn? I have read these before not sure what the issue is when I use the horn people notice me, that is all that it is supposed to do.

I would not trade in my Gen1 for a Gen2 unless it was going to make me some money on the deal.

If you're serious there are horn upgrade kits and manual guides out there, just search the forums, it's not much of a challenge to DIY.

The R1 singe horn is a joke and is a potential safety issue, a case of Rivian cutting off their nose to spite their face. Sure it was easy but also had little impact on the build cost. Rivian could have made the Camp Speaker optional and got rid of the gimmicky flashlight ages ago and realized much bigger cost savings.

It is a sad state of affairs when you have to purchase an aftermarket horn kit to restore basic horn functionality in any vehicle. Glad the OP sees this as an important fix to the gen2.

how often are you all honking the damn horn. I have owned the vehicle for over a year and have only honked it at most 3 times. Talk about making a mountain out of a damn molehill. As many others have also stated, it's a simple upgrade if desired.

I plan on trading in my 2023 R1T for the R1T Quad Max
I am waiting to see what happens next summer when it's closer to a year since the refresh has been out and the real incentives start coming out to get vehicles moving. I am on the fence 50/50.

I really don't care about the horn. 17 months of ownership and the first time I pushed the button was to get a buddy's attention when I saw him leaving a restaurant. He proceeded to call me to make fun of my bad-ass truck with the Barbie jeep horn. Embarrassing.

Very rarely but when I do I would like it to be heard, kinda like how I want my airbags to work in an accident. This is a Rivian own goal, they had it designed right and then crippled it in the spring of 2023 to save a few dollars.

I spent my upgrade budget on the very excellent Adventure High Tech StowNCharge to fix the less than useful charger Rivian shipped in all gen1 vehicles. Hopefully the new gen2 phone charger is twice as good at half the weight and actually works but these aftermarket products only exist because of Rivian errors.

I’m done, my head now hurts.

You started the thread, the horn is embarrassing but you don’t care. At least make sure they fixed the phone charger in your new Rivian.

I don’t live in the city so don’t assume all of NY is the same. Also, ever state and city in the USA drives like shit. I have lived in more than 6 states across the USAA and have visited damn near every state so I have experienced my fair share of shitty drivers. Some idiots are just to horn happy just like internet trolls ?
