Trade in R1 for refresh? What would it take?

- New colors. I think that slate on the R2S would be gorgeous on a 2025 R1S.
- Nothing dramatic but some subtle changes to front end, wheels, etc. to distinguish new 2025 model year from 2022-2024.

-Cab forward design leaning in the direction of Canoo or Telo, the 4.5' box is not practical for much & what's the purpose the long hood on an EV it could easily be 6-12" shorter(vans still pass crash tests). This would reduce the bulbousness of the front end and likely drop the Cd as well.
-180 Kwh (S/S and/or 800V/350W with 48V L/V)
-removable roof (R1S) or at the very least a sun shade (both)

-flat floor second row

As others have said I think the R1S XL with the R!T's increased capacities seems like a no-brainer as well(165-180kwh).

For sh**ts and giggles, what would it take for you to trade your R1 for a refreshed model?

Currently have a R1S Dual Motor Max Pack. Would trade it if the refresh has:

• Heat pump
• NACS
• New steering wheeL
• Quieter air suspension/motors
• Faster DC charging speeds

Do current Rivians not have a heat pump?! I’m surprised at that. They’re way more efficient.

i think the refreshed R1s will have a host of balanced features that combine cost cutting and improvements. Maybe even several trims with various price points.

They are trying to streamline, I would guess 3 trims max. The budget conscious Explore & the rumoured Ascend added if they add anything at this point.
If anything I see them cutting/simplifying features for instance the power port door seems like a weak point with unnecessary complexity.
Really curious what is going to change for the consumer.
How much higher MSRP could they go with a model like the Ascend?
Maybe they surprise with a real MP.

I think your dreaming..the refresh is about efficiency, saving monies in production. I doubt there will be features added. Less computers less wiring..etc.. but! There is always hope..
All the features I want like blinker mirrors can be done with software upgrades.

2022 RIT with less than 4000 miles so far, like to dumb it down a little.

Glass roof delete, just a solid roof
Sliding rear window
2-way manual tailgate
Under bed storage space (Ridgelinesque)

The first 3800 miles have been trouble free, just a little too fancy and way too hot in the summer.
