Does the velcro leave any adhesive marks on the carpeting. I’ve been afraid to install mine.
The adhesive backing of the velcro can leave some stickiness on the carpet. I've used "Goo Gone" to remove the left over adhesive in the past.

The Velcro doesn’t stick to the rubber mat. The velcro on the seat side stayed and didn’t leave any marks so far. I am thinking of returning them.

Thanks, I can live with it falling off the mats. Wondering if superglue would enhance the durability on that side of things since I don’t care about leaving residue off the seats.

I went with Liner-X because Tuxmats were not available in 23 when I got my S. While I like the look of the Tuxmats, I was concerned their woven texture would make them harder to clean. If anyone has had both, would like to know your experience. I have been super pleased with the Liner-X fit, finish, cleanability and price point.

One thing I have suprisingly liked-- I have the Rivian cargo cover. When the cargo cover is closed and the Liner-X rear cargo mat is folded up as the liftgate closes It is makes a completely enclosed space that you can't see into from outside the vehicle. I like this extra privacy. While the end of the Liner-X mat covers a bit of the lower rear window, the Rivian cargo cover does this as well.

I only use the seatback covers when needed, so I just lay them down when the seats are down (no adhesive). They seem to stay put pretty well.

Me too. I have the LinerX floor mat in the Rivian as that was the only real choice at the time of delivery. I have TuxMat in my Tesla and do like the product. Enough so that I've ordered their cargo liner set for the Rivian.

As for comparison of cleaning it, I vacuum first, then go over the mats with a damp towel for both TuxMat and LinerX. Both clean up easily but I am not hard on the floor mats. Rare that I get anything muddy or grime onto the mats such that I need to remove the mats and spray down/scrub with water.

The negative for the TuxMat is that because their coverage is much more, its bit more difficult to remove than LinerX. Sort of like how easily Chilwitch is removed compared to all weather liner like LinerX.

The mats were delivered yesterday. Our R1S is with my wife (its here daily) so I do not have the install images but here are some images of the mats themselves.

All the pieces:

Got them installed.

The velcro attachment adhesive is super sticky and I have high hopes that it will stay put. Except for the center 2nd row seat back protector top attachment points, all adhesive velcro patches (circular) are on the carpet part of the back of the seats.

They fit just right and easy to install. Just make sure that the velcro adhesive patch is aligned with the protector velcro part, then peal the back of the adhesive protector, then place onto the back of the seats.

Hope the info helps someone considering them. They look great.

Looks really good. I could really use just the rear mat.

Does it work with the seats up? I also have a Gen2, not sure if they made any significant changes to the trunk area.

It's been a week since installing it and yes the seat back protectors are staying up without any issues (2nd row). While I have had the 3rd down, there is no reason to believe it would behave differently than the 2nd row.

TuxMat only sells them as a set, to best of my knowledge. If you only want the cargo area, try contacting them and see what they say. They are very responsive.

I'm now waiting for their matching lower tail gate 2 piece protector to be available.

Thanks for the great pictures @mkg3 !

How accessible/usable is the air compressor?

What about the tie down rails? Looks like the rails are covered up, but maybe still can route a bungie around the side? Or would that just fold the mat quite a lot?

The compressor cover moves easy enough.

Rails are completely covered and I store the tie-down hooks under the floor panel. The cargo cover is fairly stiff and is not easily moved over. That said, you can place the hook and have the rope/strap come out from the sides, albeit with the mat bulging over the hooks.

I've had the vehicle since August last year and never have used the rail+hooks. I've used the compressor once, when I couldn't find my hand pump for few soccer balls....

I used to have 3DMaxpyder Kagu mats for the cargo area before the Tuxmat. The lower tailgate is Kagu universal mat that I'd cut and velcro taped onto it.

I am waiting for the Tuxmat tailgate 2 piece cover that they say its in work. Meanwhile I still have the Kagu mat that I made from the universal mat on the lower gate. The image is the old cargo mat with the tail gate cover. I will replace the tailgate cover once Tuxmat produces their version to match the entire cargo area.

Those look great. Best I have seen so far. I bought the liner x last year and did some slice and dice and had to use heavy duty Velcro but it's working now. I also added some stick on rubber baseboard for the side carpet.
