If you have @twraps front bumper film, how much difference does it really make when it comes to cleaning bugs off the front? Is it a quick rinse, or is there still scrubbing involved? I’m getting tired of spending time on bug removal once a week, but I’d like to know if it’s really worth it to install.
Please chime in if you have comparative experience.
Thanks.

Get some ceramic coating on the professionally installed PPF.

I have TWRAPS PPF for the front so maybe I can answer the actual question posed. :) I'd say generally no, it does not help much with cleaning off bugs any more than no PPF, but I'm comparing PPF w/ ceramic against paint with ceramic. You still have to scrub some bugs, but not all. Since the PPF only partly covers the front, I occasionally have to remove bugs from both painted and PPF surfaces.

The idea with PPF is that you will avoid paint damage from bugs, etc. Also note, I have PPF on all my vehicles (both DIY partial, partial pro and full pro installs) and I don't have any issues with dirt accumulating on partial coverage areas that are not edge-wrapped.

The PPF will help protect your paint from rock chips, scratches, and etching (though the PPF can still get etched).

I ceramic coated over the front PPF on our R1S with CSL and it really helps.

CSL is a great ceramic coating that is fairly easy to apply as a DIY. It will make washing/maintenance easier and will enhance the gloss of your truck.

Just make sure if you ceramic coat to clay bar it to remove contaminates. I use the griots ceramic detailer as lube for the clay bar. If the paint looks good with no swirls or other imperfections then it's safe to coat it. If not, it may need some polishing to remove those before you cost it.

Finally you need to spray it with a prep spray before coating. I usually make my own with 1 part isopropyl alcohol 91% and two parts distilled water.

Having a pro cost it will cost you between $1,500 and $2,000 but will last longer and include decon and paint correction.

I have that as well as some other great stuff in my Amazon store. This is all the stuff I use to maintain my vehicles.

Though many that know me will tell you I'm totally OCD when it comes to detailing ?

I have the TWraps, and also the AVS hood protector. I'd say they definitely help with cleaning off bugs. If I need to scrub, I'd rather be scrubbing on something I can easily remote & replace, rather the paint. ?

I also did the TWraps for the front and also had the ceramic coating on top. Even with the ceramic coating, I still have to scrubbing off with my hands for some bugs. Rivian is a bugs magnet. The TWraps did saved a few rock chips already though.

This. Ceramic makes for easy cleaning. PPF is still valuable and will help protect from rocks and scratches, but it doesn't really make the truck any easier to clean.

I used CQuartz on my Tesla which did a great job and lasts quite a while, but applying it is a real mission - and it's one of the easier ceramic coatings to apply. I've since switched to Turtle Wax ceramic spray which is an order of magnitude easier to apply and still lasts at least 6 months.

My experience says the best thing for bugs is ceramic coating with a good bug remover. There is no such thing to as just spraying it off. I have a full power washer setup and mini personal detail shop and I can get most of the bugs off but always need to use some mechanical touch..

My personal products I’ve used on on my R1S are:
PPF applied by Rivian.
Gyeon MOHS ceramic coat - paint corrected and applied by me.
Carpro Bug Out, let soak for a few minutes.
Foam cannon pre soak with Carpro Reset.
Power wash rinse.
Foam cannon then mechanical wash with Carpro Reset.
Dry with electric leaf blower.

I’ve used CQuartz in the past on other vehicles with good results also.

Take away is the BUG OUT does a great job on top of the ceramic coat but you still need to use a micro fiber with soap and water. Not much scrubbing though.

I wipe mine down a couple times a week with AeroProducts wash/wax. Never washed it other than to apply front PPF and full body ceramic. The no-rinse products are so good now you really don't need a full wash ever unless you've off-roaded.
