I don’t think Twitter was as big on data scraping. They just censored things at the behest of the government Instead which is just as bad but a different thing. As is Twitter. See what I did there?

Regardless, I'm not interested in debating Twitter or the deep state. I find Twitter to be a shit show and I don't use it. You're just deluding yourself if you think Twitter isn't scraping every single byte of your data in addition to tracking and collecting information on your activity. That’s thecompanyparty line for sure but I don’t really buy it.
They aren't scraping my data because I don't have a Twitter. This is the closest I come to social media. I have no interest in ANY social media platform outside of this special interest forum as they are all toxic and a huge waste of time. I spend enough time here as is.To that I respond with a modified version of what you said above:

CCS does not exchange the VIN. The only information shared that can track a vehicle, besides Plug&Charge which sort of has to share info for billing purposes, is the MAC address of the Ethernet adapter used on the CCS port. But Rivian has you covered there, every Rivian is set to use the same MAC address. (Which is why Rivians aren't compatible with the AutoCharge feature that EVgo offers. They have no other information exchanged over CCS that can identify specific vehicles.)So if you look through the specs for any of this stuff, you can see that the chargers identify vehicles based on VIN. Data exchanged between the vehicles can contain mostly telemetry type of things -- State of Charge, current mileage, battery temps and charge rate negotiation... It's not the chargers themselves that are going to harvest much for meaningful data. Of course, they probably track VIN-based charging habits/location.
I think what you mean to say is that Rivian vehicles currently do not share their VIN via CCS. Because the Plug N Charge, AutoCharge and other similar standards are all based on the ISO 15118 EV charging comms protocol, which uses multiple factors for identifying and authenticating a vehicle, the VIN being one of the option parameters. EVgo stations definitely record the VIN if the vehicle shares it... First time I charged at an EVgo station in my Lightning was the day I bought it, I didn't use any app or other identifying method. Just pulled up, plugged in, tapped my credit card it showed my VIN on the receipt summary and asked for a phone/email if I wanted a copy.CCS does not exchange the VIN. HAHAHA Sounds like you've fully surrendered. You are welcome to give all your info out, they make it real easy to do that. Personally, I value my privacy and my time. Being bombed with ads and scams doesn't enrich my life, but to each his own!Tesla definitely going to hack into your truck through the charge port and turn on all your cameras so it can send back pictures of you and your house and dog. And then it will track your route so they will know where you work and what you do on your off hours. Of course... your phone already does all that so what he harm![]()
Thanks for this info, very interesting details I haven't heard yet!CCS does not exchange the VIN.
