I did try #4 on your list. Driving on an interstate I disengaged with the stalk prior to a left hand turn transition. Unfortunately when I went to reengage later it was not available. Good news is it came back after a short sleep while we ate lunch without a reboot.
Good info. Latest from our long trip is today when the wind pushed a semi over the line into our lane as it passed us. Instead of avoiding the semi by moving slightly into the breakdown lane (what my Tesla has done), it went into full freakout mode and did what we are now calling a “Jesus take the wheel” move. Of course afterwards we needed a hard reset.

really wish Rivian fix this bug introduced with 2026.15 ASAP. It is a safety issue to put it mildly -I can see the attorneys circling over a crashed rivian that UHF shut down all of a sudden. Rivian if your listening what about a credit for those of us that paid for UHF+ - until this gets fixed.

For the long trips perhaps I should keep the R1S in the garage and use my other vehicle with FSD which is perhaps 2-3yrs ahead of Rivian?

It is frustrating that something we are paying for is not functioning right now. A credit or refund seems reasonable. I’m about to head out on another longer trip, if it fails again, I’ll be reaching out to them. I’m tolerant of the growing pains, but it’s basically unusable right now so feels like this month should be free.

Started a 100 mile trip last weekend and 10 miles in it faulted. Luckily I don't do hands free using it and was ready to catch the wheel.

Pulled over - goto the service menu, and do restart vehicle which lets you use UHF again. Was up and running again until the ride home and again, maybe 60 miles into the way back another fault.

It was late at night and I didn't feel like parking and rebooting to get it back so I just drove home without it.

We absolutely deserve either a month's credit or at the very least some sort of transparency as Rivian has been radio silent about any issues. @RivianTrackr Jose had to point out the issue with the privacy menu bug and that fixed my auto lane change but man this is just such an optics mess.

The fact a marketed and subscription based hands free system can just shut off without warning mid turn is terrible. Like the car was veering into the car next to me while my hands were down ( using hands free ) at the same time the system fault red screen showed up.

I will get blasted for this but tesla's autopilot has had issues with my model S it's not perfect but it flashes the red screen a good second or two before it disengages the system.
