Hey all 25 R1T Tri max here with the following symbol on the cluster next to headlights. Any clues? Kind of like the tailgate open but different.

My 25 R1T dual max has gotten this tailgate malfunction warning intermittently after the truck wakes up; tailgate has never had any issue. An infotainment (soft) restart clears it. Is this a known bug? I’m thinking of not restarting next time to show a service tech…

why not just have a detailed icon and a menu for more details.
This.

I have made requests to Rivian that they add an 'Fault log' screen in the service menu that tracks current and historical errors with text descriptions, date and time logged. It amazes me they don't have a user accessible fault log.

Owner manuals are online and accessible from your car and Rivian mobile app. Good to skim and know what’s there, even if you don’t read every word. https://rivian.com/support/support-documents

I find these old school depictions of check engine lights so comical on a vehicle with a high resolution lcd, why not just have a detailed icon and a menu for more details. It's not like the information isn't already stored in the computers.
They should at least have a full glossary on icons, both in vehicle and manuals, and add a service sub menu in vehicle settings that list all active faults with short explanations and recommendations. Too many people don’t RTM and the info isn’t totally centralized in the guides.

You are right! I must have found the wrong manual because I couldn’t find it.Even in the truck I had to type tailgate malfunction to find it.

Yes, they're sprinkled throughout the manual, within the relevant sections. They should add a section at the end with all icons in one place. Copy & paste. Probably take an employee less than 1 hour.

I mean commercial printers even give you step by step fixes for paper jams on the touch screen. Seems like an easy issue to solve.
