I just got a text that we can expect to receive our R2 Order Invite in October-November.

We reserved back in Fall '24. Not a current Rivian owner.

This is fine for us, since we aren't looking for the Launch Edition.

It seems like a current joke in the auto industry. It feels like EVERYTHING is getting here in the fall. I was also considering the BMW ix3 and the Volvo EX60 and guess what? Was told September-October for those too, same as my R2 window.

If anyone needs an EV this summer, they are SOOL.

Did you get your order date yet? Are you close to Ponce Center in downtown Atlanta?

With a Feb 2026 [corrected] reservation, and not a previous Rivian owner, I got an email today saying my order invite will arrive this October or November, and that the Launch Package will remain available to me until it is my time to order. I expect that LP window will not stay open for long after I get the invite.

Im not sure the difference between 4-8 weeks and those with the Aug-Sept 2026 timeline. Is this not the same thing? I guess Aug could be the end of August so technically 8 weeks away. I assume Rivian AI is sending these emails out.

Well, since we were told we would have an order window "in June" which meant June 30th, I would guess "Aug-Sep" means Aug31-Sep30

Just logged in to see this.

For context: I am an R1 owner since 8/22/22, put my R2 deposit in within the first 30 minutes on March 7, 2024, and live about 70 miles from a SC. I also opted in for the Launch Edition.

Congrats! Just received the email below! I placed my reservation March 9th a couple of days after reservations opened. I am going for LE with Borealis, coastal cloud and standard wheels.

You’ll be invited to order in September–October 2026​

Hi Robert, We’re excited to let you know you can expect to receive your R2 order invite in September–October 2026 for your Order # 247206388. Once you place your order and receive confirmation, you can expect to take delivery within 4-8 weeks for most configurations. R2 Performance with Launch Package will remain available for you until it's your time to order. Your timing window is based on a variety of factors to give you the most accurate estimate possible, including production schedules, your delivery location and vehicle preferences you selected. Very late reservation (3/12/26). Online dashboard says I’ll be invited November-December 2026.

Completed a test drive, do not currently own a Rivian, no lease, indicated interest in LE, 30-40 minutes from nearest SC. Had an early R1 reservation that I canceled many years ago before purchasing my Lightning. Not sure if that factors into the algorithm at all. All in all, I'm pleased if this window holds. With such a late reservation on the R2, I wasn't really expecting that my window could possibly open this year. Of course, we'll see if it actually does.
