Man! The lengths some people will go to for an increase of just one or two more horsepower! You'll use way more than that with all windows down and the fans cranked to max at all times.

You certainly could. I have done that for large quantities myself even though, I own a truck. It is all about having options. I for one would want to have the option to pick up an extra drywall from a friends house who had it delivered with his Pro account when he offers it to me. The whole reason I want to have the option is that I don’t have the foresight to know what I could need it for and when. I seriously doubt the pony guy bought the vehicle with that purpose in mind. He did it because his vehicle gave him that option. If he listened to some idiot driving a sport car telling him what is good for him, he would never become an internet sensation. Buying a sport utility vehicle and wanting less utility from it makes no sense to me.

I have a 1/5/2019. In the 3 years, I have received two generic emails regarding my deposit. No personal contact, no "guide" reaching out. Do I think my truck will be delivered in March - April 2022? HELL NO! This forum is so much like the Tesla forum. There are die-hard fanatics and a few realists. I am very much over the fan club hype. From the reviews, I am not sure I would want it anyway. For those of you foaming at the mouth to get one. I am sincerely happy for you. Enjoy.

Welcome and congrats on your recent preorder. If you enjoy emotional roller coasters while you wait 2+ years for a highly anticipated major purchase then buckle up your in the right spot.
It's doubtful you will get any tailored messages from Rivian until very near your delivery date but customer service responds promptly to chat, emails or phone calls and can give very basic 10,000' level info. This forum and it's members are a trove of info if you don't mind dedicating 3-12 hours daily to sift through the jumble to find the nugget your looking for.

Well, that is sort of what I thought, so thanks for confirming. I think the healthy thing for me to do now is to only check in here about every 6 months lol.

In reference to the original purpose of the thread, has anyone heard anything this week? I wasn't sure if the emails would go out on a rolling basis or all at once. Maybe all at once at 2359 on 12/31?
