Volume Dampened ON 24 R1T After Latest Update

All,
Since the most recent update the volume on my audio system has decreased. I use to keep my volume on either 2 or 3, but now have to set the volumn between 4-6 to get the same loudness. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

you might try a soft and or hard reset. i remember thinking my speaker might have broke but turned out to be a software glitch.

The audio team, intentionally lowered the bass decibels in the latest update.

If you use apple music make sure the sound check setting is turned off. It might have gotten switched on during your latest update. That sound leveling setting turns the volume significantly down.

It’s in the settings tab in the top right of your Home Screen.

Circled here in red. Click on that while you’re in park and there will be a setting for sound check. Turn that off and your volume issues should be solved.

Thank you for the information. Sound check on the Apple Music got turned on. Donald Stanfield suggested to turn off the sound check. I turned off sound check and that corrected the problem.

Thanks for posting this concern and possible solution. I noticed the same issue as the OP. I don't listen to apple music often, but did notice that setting was turned on. I'll make the switch and see whether the "level" returns to pre-update satisfaction.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the maximum volume was reached at setting 20 previously in my R1T and now it goes up to 30… so 10/20 was 50% of maximum volume but now is only 33% (10/30) at the same setting…
