It was obvious to many (except VW) that with the abysmal specs, cheap interior materials and over inflated price that this was going to be still born. If they had made the range 300+ and charged a reasonable price for it, it could have lived. But this model couldn't have lived on its looks / nostalgia alone. I'm also sure that tariff issues also helped seal its fate.

Wow, what an absolute waste of time and money...

You would think they would make at least one attempt to refresh with new tech and either make it better or make it cheaper.

*EDIT* It looks like the 2026 is cancelled but the plan is to bring it back in 2027:

A company spokesperson confirmed the news to Carscoops on Friday, telling them, “Following a careful assessment of current EV market conditions, we have made the strategic decision not to move forward with MY26 ID.Buzz production for the US market.”

While you won’t be able to get your hands on a 2026MY, Volkswagen suggested the electric minibus is in a “transition” phase and will return in 2027.

That's exactly how I felt the moment I saw the specs. I don't know how they thought that would sell at that price. A nice looking mini van is all it is.

I expected that it would come out with all kinds of camper options, built in features, etc. If they would have done that, and had 300+ range, I think it would have sold... RIP

I read something to indicate that they may rework it as a EREV which would be a much better seller IMO. I would never consider the current model to replace our Odyssey but I'd absolutely be looking at an EREV to do so if it came out.
