i tried to charge with a Lectron tesla adapter at a tesla charger (not a supercharge) and kept getting the message “waiting for charger to start”…so i borrowed my friends adapter which was not lectron and again i got the same message waiting for charger to start…i did a hard reset using the lectron adapter and afterwards still got waiting for charger to start..,i was at a tesla destination charger at Cordevalle…i tried 4 other chargers and it still got the same message…is there something i need to do in the rivian to get this to work? i have a tesla J1772 charger in my home and it charges the rivian…it is a R1T 2023

DC or AC adapter? Be aware of difference. The two are not the same or cross compatible.

Tesla level 2 AC chargers typically configured to charge Teslas only, by default. Unless owner/operator configured it to support non-Teslas too.

All of this can be searched and found via Google.

I don’t think that charger is open to non-Teslas. If I search in the Tesla app for that destination charger (Cordevalle Golf Club) with my R1T + adapter set as my vehicle, it shows no chargers in the area that can be used.

Umm, I think the OP is aware of that much - OP explicitly said "not a supercharger".

Umm, but well maybe the OP doesn't know there are two kinds of adapters, so objection withdrawn...

I can't find a match for Cordeville on the Tesla app, but on PlugShare there are three level 2 charger sites at the Cordeville golf resort, which is a private establishment, not open to the public, and the chargers are for members only.

That basically falls into the category of not my problem, not Tesla's problem, not Rivian's problem, not Lectron's problem - that's between you and your club.

For the record, the Lectron NACS -> J1772 adapter works just fine at public Tesla destination chargers, and works just fine at private Tesla destination chargers where the owner has configured the charger to work for all vehicles and not just Teslas.

It’s probably set to Tesla vehicles only. The host just has to check the box within the Tesla app to enable non-Tesla vehicles. Good luck finding the person with those priveleges
