I currently have 5 cell phone lines in my home, 5g home Internet and 4g cell router at our weekend house. My Audi had a pay as you card until the 3g radio got deprecated. I really just don't need to be buying another redundant cell service that does exactly the same thing. Tethering the R1 to a phone would be welcome for the rare times it might be useful. Spotify plays the same 12 songs over and over for me. HD radio seems to have better fidelity. All the other connect+ features I don't use anyway. Maybe aerial view in a blue moon.

Does this mean all current Gear Guard features still remain free? That it's just the live cam feature that will be paywalled? The only things that interest me are Gear Guard and Apple Music. For GG, if I still get all current features like recordings saved on the car and notifications on my phone for GG, I don't think I can justify $12-15/mo.

For AM, it's probably easier for me to just find the music I want to play on my phone faster than using the screen anyways. Higher audio quality (versus Bluetooth) and Dolby Atmos interest me, but I still doubt it's noticeable enough for me to pay more than double of my Apple Music subscription. ?‍
