New pre-order here. Wait for next week, something exciting is coming! (maybe new online configurator)

Speaking of the configurator, I took a look under the hood to see if there were any changes of note (didn't see any). I did notice something I had overlooked before. There is an attribute within the R1T "definition" that seems odd:
"range":
{
"attrs": {
"title": {
"en-US": "Projected range"
},
"suffix": {
"en-US": "+ mi"
},
"units": {
"en-US": "mi"
}
},
"value": "279"
}
This my just be junk data, but 279 is an oddly specific number.
Also the unformatted date for the start of deliveries is 6/1
"deliveriesBegin": {
"attrs": {
"title": {
"en-US": "Deliveries begin"
}
},
"value": "2021-06-01T12:00:00.000Z"
}
Really hope it's not 279, ugh.You're suggesting maybe 279 miles rating on the initial R1T battery option
Would be a deflating outcome if true. I was hoping the "at least 300" would end up like 320. Not 20 fewer on the negative side. But yes, I know is reading raw code. Another gut punch to prep for maybe
Is there a similar figure for the R1S? If it's 5-10% greater...This my just be junk data, but 279 is an oddly specific number.
No, it just stood out as odd. I think it may be an attribute that was supplanted later. The 300+ and 400+ values are associated with the battery options in the data. If we could get some EPA numbers, I wouldn't have to irresponsibly speculate from bits of code.You're suggesting maybe 279 miles rating on the initial R1T battery option

The value for the R1S is 300 for that attribute.Is there a similar figure for the R1S? If it's 5-10% greater...
? Right around 7.5%, which could be legit. I'd be surprised by such a round number though. Man, that official EPA/range testing announcement can't come soon enough.The value for the R1S is 300 for that attribute.
Yeah I’m hoping for 300+ on the R1S and with sport wheels.You're suggesting maybe 279 miles rating on the initial R1T battery option

And then don’t forget about loss of range due to battery degragation and that you don’t charge to 100% unless going in a trip. And that electric vehicles are greatly affected by wind and climbing even the smallest hills. Folks,. Trust me. range is king. you Need the most range you can afford.Yeah I’m hoping for 300+ on the R1S and with sport wheels.
if 279 is for the R1T with 21s, those with 20s configured are probably going to see like 266 or so at another 5% loss maybe.
Under 300 and more may make me keep my Model X order instead as we were told 300+.
