Seems doubtful RJ would send out a hype tweet promising more to come this week if the "more to come" is bad news.
I hope your right!

Maybe we will hear something tomorrow.
I sort of am hoping we don’t. Friday news releases are traditionally used for bad news, that a company hopes will get buried and forgotten over the weekend. Not always, but often.

This makes me worried:
That fits with what Rivian has stated. R1T LE first, followed by R1S LE with all to be delivered this year. Under that scenario, there would most likely be some R1S deliveries in December (unless their conversion rate is much lower than they anticipated).
Without context, that comment is nothing to worry about (and strikes me as 3rd, 4th, or 5th hand information anyway).
"A cousin of my friend was there, and they told my friends sister's best friend from high school that ...."

I agree, they have not hidden the fact that some LEs holders may not be contacted until around Thanksgiving so that would certainly put their deliveries into December.

Nor would I believe that CS has given ANYONE specifics like that for their delivery!

Unfortunately rumors fill the void when there is no news.

This makes me worried:
Why?

I've heard employees were told they were going to be at the back of the line, anyway... so a December delivery for a LE makes total sense.

Wait what? I mean, doesn’t affect me, but last I checked they were still saying LE R1S deliveries were starting in August.

I think RJ is a world-class sadist. The degree of information withheld at this point might be a violation of the Geneva Convention.

Somehow he's orchestrated a calmness, borderline coolness about his corporate secrecy. Typically start-up's behaving this way face a tidal wave of skepticism about its true viability.

Yea the lack of continuity is odd but as I mentioned before they are most likely phasing out their current site for a whole new push. The new code base must handle the following:

  • Better Information for R1T/R1S, potentially interactive video/media showing the truck/suv in full specifications as well as like any other brand/configurator.
  • Finance Sign up (unless they link thru chase) but then the data has to be passed on the back end either way a LOT of PII and Financial Information that is detrimental for security concerns so they need to get it write. Can't have a breach on day 1.
  • Mobile Apps
  • Guide Area to handle more communication/interaction
  • Insurance/Registration inlets to get all the information (See Breach statement above)
  • Tracking Notification of where the vehicle is in process/delivery
Not justifying anything but it seems they have a massive re-do on their website and they are from what I am assuming going to launch it all at once and everything needs testing for functionality, security, etc. Probably should have been done way earlier in the game but hey, new brand and all. Gotta roll with what you have and wait I suppose. I won't fault them for anything or any delays just because I know what goes behind everything and it a fkin mess when it doesn't go right.

Except like 90% of what people are asking to know could be handled with a reel on Instagram or something. Lol.

I guess its not the "CORPORATE" thing to do and they want to do it right, but that is just the information/showing part of the vehicle. Doesn't really handle the rest of it which is the more complicated rollout part.
