So today something weird started happening while driving an in town 10-15 mile trip in navigation. During some turns I get a 'gong' tone randomly in the middle of the turn maybe once or twice with no alert on any screen. Not the regular too close to the lines or crossing over entrance/exit lines gong thing, its new case same tone. Not the you have your signal on and someone is beside you tone either.

Later I'll have to record, and I did a search but nothing came up.

Camp Speaker is also my first thought. Or maybe iPhone disconnecting from your wireless charger as you round the corner? A sound clip would help ...

My vote is for your phone sliding around on the charger. I had it happen on the first drive when I picked up the truck and finally had to ask the Rivian guide with me what was making the sound.

So funny, I forgot all about that thing haven't touched it since pickup just under two weeks ago. I'll check it out. I never paired but maybe that's automatic?

Could be, the sound comes from the truck that the phone is moving off/on the charger?

@ndmiller Yes as the phone slides over and starts charging, the truck will chime. Kind of like the chime your phone makes when you put it on a normal charging dock.

My vote is the camp speaker as well. Drover me crazy for a day or 2 before I figured out what it was.

This video is queued up right to the spot where the pairing noise happens for reference. I couldn't find the noise in any other video, btw, but know that I tried!!

Could also be incident recording from hard braking or honking. When the recording stops it has a chime, but I can’t think of what it sounds like at the moment.

your truck chimes when your phone starts charging on the wireless pad?!
Have never heard a chime from my truck. Phone can be set up to chime when charging starts but not the truck?

OK this is hysterical as all the chimes sound the same.

I never knew the truck chimed when phone started charging as I've always put it on before I got into the truck.

Haven't played with camp speaker but did try to get it out the other day and it wouldn't budge so maybe its not all the way in.

To release it you need to be in park, unlocked or manually release the electro-mechanical latch at the back/bottom of the speaker from settings screen. See page 219 of Owner Guide. Others have reported theirs weren't docking fully and/or not charging, causing the speaker's battery to run low and make a different sound. Some have also reported bad contact, so the speaker would intermittently activate—and attempt to pair—with road bumps.

I have little use for mine and would rather they make it an option instead of taking away the two 12V outlets and short-change us on the horn.
