Wheel Rash Info Needed!

I did the unthinkable! I misjudged a tight u-turn radius in heavy traffic… rather than back up, I tried to make the turn and roughed up my right front 22” wheel! Thankfully, there is no felt issues with driving dynamics. But, what/who do you guys recommend I do for repair and restoration?

Looks like you’re in Phoenix metro. If you can make it back to Tempe, the Wheel Specialists have repaired too many of my rims that I care to admit.

It’ll be stripped, repaired, and freshly powdercoated and will take a few days. They don’t have loaner wheels unfortunately but I’m actually going to try to sell them a set soon. I’m about to swap out my wife’s 21’s road tires to the 20” AT’s.

He’s a magician — in about an hour, you will never know that the rim was curbed. Price is typically around $100 per wheel.

Here in NY I had my wife’s Tesla’s curb rash repaired while I waited, under an hour for $175. Looks brand new. Look around your area.

Maybe it’s the camera angle but your tire appears stretched, the rim protrudes past the sidewall of the tire. This creates more opportunity for curb rash.

Google "mobile wheel repair" and find one with good reviews. They'll come to you and, within an hour, your wheel will look like new. They typically charge $100-175 per wheel.

Unless you are willing to ship the wheel to a non-local specialist, best to look on yelp for highly rated local ones and have discussion/quotes. The way the factory wheel is finished, it’s more involved—it’s painted black, partly machined, then painted with a tinted clear coat. This makes spot repairs more complicated.

Hopeless for me. I've used black touch up paint but I take it off road and the 22s don't stand a chance

I used to have this issue with my other cars with low profile tyres. I have a guy I use. He only charges $60/wheel. My R1 has 20" wheels and never got curb rash. A few weeks ago I took it in for service and they scratched up one of the wheels. They sent a mobile tech with a new wheel a week later and replaced it.
