Where is my Quad? Support Group

This is the new thread called “Where is my Quad ? “Here we can whine/opine about how the delay in getting our Quad is is causing emotional distress ,possibly deep deep anger,despondency ect.. I will start-I put my deposit down in early July. I now own so many accessories I can not afford not to buy it-I am more frustrated every day. The only consolation is that I have not seen a better price on anything I purchased yet.

Glad you ordered the quad. It certainly sounds like a great car. You're not going to get a lot of sympathy on the wait as a lot of the people on here had to wait years to get their R1. My wait was a little over a year which I didnt mind. Actually thought the anticipation was fun and it gave me time to learn about the car on this forum. Cheers.

Whining from a July 2024 deposit? Pssh...I'm still waiting for our Quad Max R1T that we pre-ordered in 2022. They ended up cancelling the Gen1 Quad Max after a few years, and I ended up being forced to a QUAD LARGE config, but then I was waiting for the Powered Tonneau to get fixed before taking delivery. That of course didn't happen before the the Gen2, and then the Gen2 Quad Max got announced. I ended up putting another deposit down for the Gen2 Quad, but in the meantime, bought a Gen2 R1S Standard to take advantage of my expiring pre-price hike voucher. We have plenty of other vehicles, so I'm not in that big of a rush, just hoping that they'll have the NACS port and hopefully a battery upgrade with better thermals when and if they actually do ship the Quad. Just hoping they don't screw me again and cancel the Quad Max like they did last time. At this rate, Gen3 will be announced before the Gen2 Quad sees the light of day. Clearly I'm not learning a damn thing. I also put a deposit down on a Scout Traveler Harvester, so we'll see if the Quad makes it here before that comes out.

Dude, I totally get this. Waiting was insanity to me and it really wasn't that long. I did avoid buying accessories because you get one, you get that dopamine hit for getting a thing for the thing you haven't got, then you set it down because you can't do anything with it and you feel worse. At least I did. So now that I have the truck, I can't afford accessories.

I waited 4 years and 11 days for my Gen 1 R1S quad. In the startup days, the wait was exciting! I am glad I waited. Today, I would certainly consider the tri as well..

If you all want something to wonder about until then, I have a suspicion that we will see two other things at the same time as the quad:
1) NACS - hardly a leap at this point.
2) An XMM2.5 module matching the specs of the XMM3 in the R2/R3, which will be required for eyes off driving in 2026.

One thing to note there - the XMM is JUST the infotainment computer. It doesn't have any connection with the autonomy systems, beyond communication with the driver through the UI, and providing a cellular/GPS connection. The Autonomy computer (AXM) is a physically separate computer that lives in the same housing
