CS finally confessed why my original order (Nov 2021) forecast of 4th qtr of this year is now going to be ONE YEAR LATER, and now forecasted to be built in the "second half of '23". I live in NEW MEXICO (little bit cleaner than Old Mexico) and was told I am too far from a service center.

Rivian your communication sucks and not confident that you will fulfill buyer's agreements for the '23 calendar year, rather known 25k units for '22.

To those that have taken delivery I do not begrudge by any means. Looking at preorder dates and delivery locations across the US I do not follow the methodology even somewhat. By appearances it is a total clown show.

Rivian could have been completely upfront from day one telling you your delivery date depends on a new SC being built nearby.
How far are you from the closest currently existing Rivian SC?

My father in law lives in New Mexico and he got his R1T in early June. His truck was delivered from Phoenix.

Have you asked if changing from OC to BM will expedite getting you the truck? OC seems to be factor in delays (purely empirical)

It will 100%. They have repeatedly communicated this to order holders. Not new news.

The SC location factor is new news but many around here have speculated that it's part of the algorithm. Over-stressed SCs can also be a factor but that's something likely not to be communicated.

Makes sense but you are probably not the only one with this new sense of urgency so slots could be filling up even more quickly as lots of folks are suddenly less picky... One other tip would be to consider taking delivery elsewhere. Change your home address to your uncle's house in Los Angeles (or wherever). Cheap one way flight to pick it up and you get to have the fun of driving it home. (They can still register it in the state of your choosing.) Good luck.

I have heard there are 10 R1Ts in New Mexico, but seems most are Launch or fairly early orders.
I have also been told that New Mexico is “delayed” as there is no service centers and they want you to get the Rivian Experience.
I really don’t need an experience, just a truck, but I think the delay is more about the repairs many trucks are needing.
I also heard that Rivian is training some people here in New Mexico for what I assume will be mobile service.
Sadly there are crap laws protecting Dealerships that won’t let companies like Tesla and Rivian have sales here…not even freaking service centers. Not allowing service centers seems like it should be illegal as it allows possibly dangerous cars on the road.
Tesla, after years, found a work around by having a store on Pueblo land.
I sent emails to Rivian suggesting they do something similar but those email seemed to fall on deaf ears.
Oh well. Mostly I just would like my old window of Oct to Dec to be confirmed. But no emails yet.

No service centers allowed in NM unless Dealership laws are changed.
Tesla just recently opened a store and service by building on Pueblo land.
Nearest is Denver, 450 miles from Albuquerque.

Very early orders and launch editions have been delivered in NM. One, my exact configuration, is being delivered tomorrow to a member of this forum. I am happy and jealous
I think a lot has to do with all the little issues trucks are having. So they are limiting sales to locations far from service.
I understand, but it’s also frustrating.
I, probably stupidly, sold my car and decided to go carless til I got the R1T. Thinking it would be Oct-Dec of this year.
Gonna need to buy a beater car to get me through winter and back to bicycle weather in late March/early April.

At least you are close to Hatch NM home of the Hatch chilies! I am hopeful that there will be chili festival there this year as well. I know it does not take the edge off the Rivian shenanigans but Chili Verde can work towards making it right.
