I saw this at HF and thought this would be great to mount the winch for a Rivian when needed. And then later easily removed. Well not easily, it weighs a lot without the winch. I plan to use it for something completely different. Moving woodworking tools down a basement.
I plan to use it on my highlander till I get a R1T.

Also, does anyone know if a 3 ton Jack is okay to use to lift the Rivian? I know the R1T weighs more… but it would be used to change the tires.
HF has 4 and 3 ton jacks on sale.

When you are using a jack to lift a vehicle, you’re generally not lifting its entire weight. Usually 1/4 or 1/2 at most.

I have a winch mounted on a cradle like that that I used on my Dodge pu. The problem isn't the mount it's getting the power to the winch. On the Dodge it wired directly to the dual 12v batteries with very heavy gauge wire.

3-ton is fine. The other critical attribute is lift height (17~18”), since the tire change service mode raises suspension to reduce droop once lifted. Combine with puck, the jack has to lift high enough to clear tire of ground.

Thanks, I planned to use a separate car battery or the 110v.

I have a 3ton floor jack from HF. Just fine. Seems very solid. (But would use Anything to avoid using the scissor jack that comes with the truck again. )

I don't think 110 powered winches are powerful enough for moderate winching. I use 5000 to 6000 pound ATV winches on custom front hitch mount or rear.
Ditch the cradle idea as you are just adding weight. ATV winches with synthetic rope are light weight. You can fabricate and weld up a light weight portable base from random Harbour freight off the shelf parts.
I'm talking on my Nissan Frontier, using quick connects to the battery. The rear use requires a long #4 or 6 covered cable. There are double decker trailer hitch ball mounts which could work on the R1T, and power from a battery sitting in the bed temporarily. Stay away from steel cable winches due to weight.
