I oftentimes charge at work. There is only one pedestal that is ADA, and its usually taken by the time I get to work. So I make my way all the way down to the first floor. I'm usually the only one there. So I park on the rightmost slot where I'm granted a bit more room.

THEN.....

More people show up and if I'm lucky the teeny tiny Chevy Bolt is next to me on the driver side and I can still squeeze in and get into the truck.

If its anyone else, including the chrysler pacifica minivan I'm sunk. That lady puts her wheels right on that line so there is no way for me to get in to leave.

I would then have to go back up to my desk and grab one of my friends who can get in and back up my truck so I can leave.

It would be so helpful if the truck could just back out of the slot enough so I can get in. Wouldn't that be great? I thought I saw that Lean's vehicles can do that?

Please request this feature in the feedback section of the mobile app. I did. Perhaps if they get enough requests...

Hyundai's/KIA's ability to move the car forward or backwards really was handy for us. I regularly backed our I5 and Santa Fe hybrid out of the garage so I could move stuff around. Rivian could easily make this happen with control through the app.

Long ago Wassym said “possible”. Now it’s clear it won’t ever happen for gen1 as they’re done with anything involving autonomy for that generation. If you’re gen2, you have better chances.

Came from a Model y and when I went for my demo drive, the guide couldn't open the door for the R1S he had the key for because it was too close so I asked why he didn't just use summon and he said it wasn't possible. I thought because he didn't have an app. I'm honestly surprised at the things Rivian doesn't have in their app or at all considering how long Tesla has had them and how long RIvians have been around already.

We had FSD on our Model 3 which has summon etc as part of that upgrade but since we hardly used the FSD feature itself, we opted to not get it included in the purchase of our Model Y. I've often said that smart summon is a nice party trick but dumb summon should be part of the standard equipment for those tight times it's a must have. Once when we were leaving a theater after a heavy flash rain storm, we came out to our parking spot that was now a small pond surrounding the car for about 25' and 6"deep. Lucky we were in the 3 so just summoned the car to back up until we could step in from dry pavement. Now even lane keep is only available on new Teslas if you subscribe to FSD for $99 a month. One of the things I like about the R2 LE is the Autonomy+ included for life in the purchase price so hope they will add dumb summon at some point.
