Anybody ever get theirs? Had my truck since March and still don't have the wristbands.

I was told a few days ago that they had to switch suppliers and the target window for them shipping out is August-October.

Fwiw, my guide told me that only launch edition purchasers get the wrist band key, but there will be an option for us adventure edition buyers to purchase it from the gear shop eventually.

I’m also March delivery (Jan 2019 order) and have not heard any recent word on it from my guide.

I was also told that the feedback that they received on the already delivered wristbands was not good from both a fit and functionality perspective.

The fit was great if you had little girl wrists.

The function was great if you were literally right on top of the sweetspot of the truck.

The new supplier will deliver a better band on both of those items. Supposedly.... S00n...

The wristband, like the key card uses a passive NFC chip that is powered by the vehicle's RFID readers. In order for the passive NFC device (the wristband in this case) to receive enough voltage and current to operate, it's tiny antenna coil (usually embedded around the IC chip) needs to almost touch the low power RFID reader antenna coils in the truck. So even with a new wristband vendor... don't expect any increased range over a few mm from the RFID pad outside the truck.

Eh not sure I think it’s that dire. I have several rfid items that reliably read from feet away. I have a toll-tag rfid sticker that reads from dozens of feet away, at high speeds.

Those are different versions of RFID using higher frequencies and high power transceivers. The Toll Tags are "active" units and have batteries (that's why the units get replaced every 5yrs or so). The passive key cards and wristbands have to almost, if not actually touch the truck to activate because they use NFC (Near-Field Communication)... just like the Tesla key cards using NFC where you have to tap it against the door pillar to unlock the car.

My toll tag (sticker) is not active. It's literally a RFID sticker. No battery.

March 31st delivery. Received wrist band with delivery. It works, not great but ok. I could see how certain life styles it would be great. Hopefully the next go around is slightly better.
