who needs RAN when you can have access to all the tesla supercharger? They might as well stop making RAN
perhaps RAN can concentrate on "adventurous" locations instead of just Michigan.

Is this saying that Rivian will be switching future production vehicles to be equipped with Tesla ports? Or just that Rivians will be able to use SC stations with CCS adapter? Or both?

Tell that to the multitudes of companies in the gasoline distribution business.

Why do you think Tesla is doing this? It's all about increasing their power distribution revenue. Read up on Standard Oil and Rockefeller.
You don't think that all the energy distribution companies with far deeper pockets than Rivian, and already control the convince store world, won't get into electrical distribution, when the demand is appropriate.

I am not saying energy distribution is bad business. I am saying Rivian trying to be in that game, and this point in time, is a waste of money.

Tesla did it because without their investment in that space, EV adoption would have been extremely limited. Rivian doesn't need to "fix' that problem anymore.

The last time I was close to An ASME standards committee meeting, the person in charge of it called it “beating everyone into consensus”

there will be some fun meetings

I wonder if there will be a way to upgrade the charge port on our trucks so we don’t have to have an adapter.
Zero chance of that. An adapter for the occasional road trip isn’t horrible.

Don't say that until you see the cost of supercharging a non-Tesla vs a Rivian using the RAN network.
I suspect the prices will be the same to entice all these OEMs to sign with Tesla.

To be honest, I would not mind paying a little more for using the supercharging network just for its reliability vs the CCS network
