I'm about to take delivery of a new R1T after being away for a couple of years
Back in November of 2018 I placed a pre-order for a R1T and an R1S. I then proceeded to read anything and everything Rivian. I attended every Rivian drive event or meetup I could. Trying to learn as much about the product and company as possible.
In November of 2021 (3 years later), me and my COVID mask attended a first mile drive event where I got to drive a R1T. At that point I was sold. BUT... my order was for a Max Pack R1T. That config was unobtanium back then.
Fast forward to June 2022. I took delivery of a Limestone R1T large pack. I loved everything about the truck. It was my first EV. There were some teething issues with a new product and company. I had a number of issues in the first few months (failed battery pack, failed front drive unit, etc) but Rivian Service was awesome at fixing everything. They got my truck sorted and once they did it was a solid vehicle for over a year.
Fast forward 14 months and my wife's R1S order was ready for purchase. I traded the R1T for the R1S. My hope was my wife would take the R1S and give up her 200 Series Land Cruiser. In the end, wifey kept her LC and the R1S was sold in late 2023.
Since then. I have watched Rivian from a distance. Admiring the progress and missing the R1T. I wasn't a fan of the R1S, but I loved the R1T. Over the last almost 3 years since I exited the Rivian ecosystem I have had a handful of cars. None of them has lasted more than 6 months. I have missed my original R1T. Had I not traded it in I'm confident that I would still have it today.
That brings us to today. I have an appointment to pickup a Quad R1T and I'm just as excited as I was getting my original Rivian and rejoin the ecosystem.
I know you all won't be happy without pics... this is the best I have for now.
