Excessive battery drain during transit

I have a 2025 R1 S tri motor I shipped the vehicle from Florida to Colorado and prior to shipping it I charged the vehicle to 100%.. In the five days it took for the vehicle to get to Colorado on the car carrier the vehicle lost 35% of its charge. The vehicle was not driven other than sitting on the carrier. I left the flash drive for the cam recorder plugged into the usb port and nothing else was operating in the vehicle. Has anybody experienced a similar situation or has any idea of why this happened ?

Did you put it in "shipping mode"?

I think "shipping mode" minimizes drain, but doesn't eliminate it completely.

Do you have the vehicle back yet to look at the simple 24hr drain summary? My guess is that the motion cameras kept activating and recording.

Did you turn on Vehicle shipping mode in settings? That’s what it is for.

Does it charge and seem normal again when driving or resting overnight?
Or is there a permanent change?

The R1 is never off. Assuming you left it as if you had it parked at home, it could be doing lots of stuff in transit. HVAC may be operating. Cameras may be operating. PAK will be operating listening for your phone. Bluetooth will be on. All the computers will be on and keeping warm ready to drive. I once got a flat tire in Wyoming in my Tesla, put it on a flatbed to get to Big O. The Tesla thought it was being stolen. So, maybe gear guard whas having a fit. lots of possiblities.

This would be my guess also. The vehicle may have stayed on alert the whole time. Interesting to see the recording.

Yes there is a shipping mode in service. Shuts off everything

Shipping mode doesn't matter now that you have the car. What matters most is testing normal operations day-to-day to see what the usage is. "Normal" is about 1% per day.

I am amazed at my R1T parked battery loss vs my wife's Model 3 lack of battery loss! We will always leave the Rivian on the charger at the house if we travel by plane, never worried about the 3 draining.
