Cause they have the same technical specs at a core level. BEV have leveled the playing field.
It's really not though. People are driving Ferrari and all these expensive for the cars performance and tech specs, they are driving it to boost their ego. No mass market car is going to fill that gap.

Well, this is a curious fan-boy post with a thesis that on the surface seems dubious, if not delusional. A venn diagram of the market for any Ferrari and that of Rivian would have a very small overlap. The premise suffers from the conceit that those who purchase Ferrari vehicles do so for the vehicle's performance. This is like those who used to say they subscribe to Playboy for the articles.

The market for Ferrari's consists primarily of those who purchase for the prestige of owning and being seen driving a Ferrari. Do Ferrari vehicles have good performance? Yes, and Playboy published noteworthy articles too.

It's possible those at Ferrari were guilty of the same delusion, because regardless of how spectacular the performance of the Luce may or may not be, if the larger society labels the Luce a "looser" for whatever reasons, it will not last long. And no, those in the market for a Ferrari are not going to be interested in an EV that looks like it could have been designed by AMC, regardless of its performance or price tag.

My guy hand written from scratch by me 😂

Just stating when it does launch, this would be great ideas to make not a shitbox like the luce 😂
Where did you get the R3X photos that don't exist, out of curiosity?

Made them in Gemini/NBP because I suck at art and did this for fun. As someone who has talked with rivians design director this was all the goal of the vehicle. Lancia Delta Integrale vibes so bringing to life what it could look like is pretty amazing use case I'd argue

I like that Gulf, an oil company, sponsored the R3X, and that they have chosen to run both Michelin and Pirelli tires, at least according to the decals on the front.

As for the Luce, I think it's getting panned because it's just so hideous. There's virtually nothing to like about it except that it still has a good number of physical controls. I wonder what happens when you put it in ICE mode?

Porsche didn't take this kind of beating on the Taycan because they didn't abandon their design language. Panamera hopefuls could cross shop the Taycan without the use of recreational drugs. Similarly, the Rolls Royce Spectre is a great choice to electrify, keeping everything people love about Rolls and making it even quieter and smoother by using an EV powertrain. The Rimac Nevera is an envious EV hypercar worthy of praise, even if it doesn't have the pedigree of the old Italians.

Some people will still buy a few as gateway drugs to the hard stuff, but I wonder how many heads will roll for this car diluting Ferrari's image.

The whole "EVs are soulless appliances" comment is old, lazy and tells me the person does not have much to offer to a car conversation besides "I like loud". Sound does not make a car have a "soul" the same way a vacuum is not effective based on its sound. I have driven several vehicles and even the punching bag for "soulless appliance", the Model 3, is a ton of fun. I loved driving my R1S. The Lucid Gravity and Air are both excellent driver cars. The Mustang Mach-E was always a joy as well. Polestar 3, Ioniq 5, Taycan, BMW i4...the list goes on.
What is really amusing, about 110 years ago, people where saying the ICE automobile was 'soulless' compared to the horse and carriage.:CWL: My how things have changed.

I'm happy there is enthusiasm for the R3X...but it will never sell in meaningful numbers, and it's a modern VW Rabbit. There will be an enthusiast community around it, but I predict it will be small.
