If you looked at the press release when production started only select employees were invited to order early. Everyone else is lumped in with non employees.

I wonder how many reservations per order invitation batch...

It'd be nice if it's maybe...... 10,000? Eh, just to be safe, let's say 200,000, lol.
(I'm trying to guess how many would be needed for me to be included on the 9th)

Knowing that in the shareholder report it’s 26k total cars this year. To start my guess is batches of 1-2k

My guess is that it will be quite a bit more than that st least st first and certainly more than several weeks of run rate.

They should be easily producing between 300-500 per week at this point or very soon. They’ll want to see probdbly at lest 6-8 weeks of basically guaranteed demand for selections color mostly and the limited options. Color is the most important as the paint shop has to be chafed over to change colors.

They have most likely built at least 1000-1500 for actual customers at this point just on spec and should be about to handle 6000-8000 orders in queue within the first 3 months. So they’ll want to build that schedule now.

We’ll all know by Tuesday what much of the details of the plan are My guess is they open up the ordering to ~10k ppl who have ordered early and have confirmed they want an LE and will ask them to final configure and put down another $250-500 and then they’ll get some 6-8 week projection within a few days or a week.

No R2 outside (closed) service center in Sterling, VA on Sat PM.

I did see Limestone R1 for the first time ever, another color I’d like to see come to R2 for MY28. Red Canyon or some other red too. Otherwise likely default to white, sigh.

They do not need to do anything to change colors in the line, they use canisters so they can paint each car in line a different color if they choose to.

All of Sterling's sales is rerouted to Tysons so they won't have any. Tysons has a total of three one inside and two outside for test drives.

Drive by the KoP space and Malvern SC yesterday to see if I could spot any R2s but none visible unless hidden inside the SC as of yesterday. Sales person in the space said in two weeks time which I am sure is wrong.
Maybe Monday they will be visible as they prepare for Tuesday.

Did a demo drive on an R1S today in St Augustine, FL today just to get a feel for the brand, build quality, tech, etc. I know the R2 is going to be different but the demos are probably going to start getting really backed up next week. Also just wanted to see some paint colors in person.

They didn’t have any R2’s in the lot or in the showroom, but they did say they had a Catalina Cove in the service building and were expecting a white one and one of the gray colors for launch day. They also said that Orlando location will have a Launch Green for launch day.

Demo driving the R1S was pretty impressive. I don’t need a 3-row vehicle so the R2 seems like a perfect fit.

I’m at Tyson’s mall waiting for Rivian shop to open at 11am. I don’t see an R2 through the gate and there weren’t any parked at garage charging stations.

So far seems like bad info.

Update: Rivian guy advised vehicles will arrive Tuesday morning from Sterling. Since I didn’t see them on Sat outside or through the darkly tinted windows, perhaps they’re already there but squirreled away so you can’t get eyes on them.
